From October 23-25, the paddock returns to the iconic 2.76-mile (4.45-kilometer) circuit as the overseas campaign continues. With the championship battles entering a crucial stage, every point becomes increasingly important. Below, find the latest team press releases ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

More, from a press release issued by Aprilia Racing:

Aprilia Racing continues its flyaway tour in Australia.

MotoGP's flyaway tour continues in Australia at the historic Phillip Island circuit for the season's eighteenth round. Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi are preparing to tackle one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar, which this year hosts the final MotoGP Grand Prix before the planned move to Adelaide next season.

Jorge Martín arrives at Phillip Island after a positive weekend in Indonesia, where he finished fourth in the sprint and third in the long race. That run of results has taken him back to the top of the championship on 355 points.

Marco Bezzecchi comes to the Australian GP after securing his fifth Grand Prix win of the season in Indonesia. Despite crashing in the sprint, the Italian rider ended the weekend with an important victory and now goes into the Australian round determined to repeat the feat.

The 4.45 km Phillip Island circuit is renowned for its spectacular setting. Running along the clifftops of the island, in the state of Victoria, and surrounded by unspoilt countryside, the track has five right-handers and seven left-handers.

Jorge Martin: "After Indonesia, it's clearer than ever that this championship will be fought out between the top three. We arrive in Australia with the gaps in the riders' standings even tighter, so we have to keep working and keep faith in what everyone at Aprilia and the team is doing. It will be my first time on the RS-GP at a circuit as special as Phillip Island. I'm confident that my team and I will do an excellent job and give this circuit the send-off it deserves."

Marco Bezzecchi: "I'm really happy to be heading to Phillip Island. It's a shame this will be our last time there, but I'm delighted to be back on the bike. I can't wait, especially after the fantastic Sunday we had in Indonesia. As always, we'll be working hard as a team to be competitive and have fun out there."

More, from a press release issued by Ducati Lenovo:

Down Under for the grand classic: the Ducati Lenovo Team lands at Phillip Island.

It is time for farewells and great emotions for the MotoGP circus, flying to Australia for the eighteenth round of the 2026 season where, for the last time, racing will take place on the historic Phillip Island circuit. A unique place with a wild charm, where unspoiled nature, breathtaking sunsets over the ocean, and local wildlife serve as a backdrop to one of the most spectacular and fastest tracks in the world.

A fast-flowing layout to be tackled in one breath, where the Desmosedici GP boasts a great tradition of success: from recent victories with satellite teams by Marc Márquez in 2024 and Johann Zarco in 2023, up to the epic four-in-a-row signed by Casey Stoner, undisputed dominator from 2007 to 2010.

Marc Márquez, in second position in the general standings, just a breath away from the leader, is ready to make the most of a key weekend for the Championship on an adrenaline-pumping but physically very demanding track.

Leaving behind the race that ended prematurely in Indonesia, Pecco Bagnaia arrives at Phillip Island to turn the page. A track with a truly unique layout where he aims to find consistency and solid finishes again.

Marc Márquez (#93, Ducati Lenovo Team): "Phillip Island is an extraordinary circuit, racing here for the last time will be emotional. It is a track with a unique, breathtaking layout. Here I won one of my first races with Ducati and we are motivated to do well, ready to fight right away for the positions that matter".

Francesco Bagnaia (#63, Ducati Lenovo Team): "It will be the last time on this track, a circuit where I haven't managed to win yet, but which holds an incredible charm, an extraordinary layout, and pure adrenaline. Let's work hard from Friday and get the most out of our package".

More, from a press release issued by Monster Energy Yamaha:

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Prepare for Final Phillip Island Showdown.

After a one-week break, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are all ready and fired up for the second part of the Asian-Oceanian flyaway rounds. This weekend the MotoGP paddock is touching down in Australia for a farewell visit to Phillip Island.

After a one-week break, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team have travelled to Phillip Island, Australia, for Round 18 on the 2026 MotoGP Calendar.

Fabio Quartararo commences the Australian GP holding joint-14th place in the standings. The Frenchman has ridden a MotoGP bike at the Phillip Island track five times before, in 2019, and from 2022-2025. El Diablo's best score in a full-length race here was the ninth place he secured in 2024, having started from P19.

Álex Rins sits 20th in the overall rankings and aims to make the most of this final visit to Phillip Island. He loves the flowing track, ocean views and atmosphere, and has fond memories of the circuit, scoring three consecutive podiums: a Moto3 win in 2013, a third place in Moto3 in 2014, and a Moto2 win in 2015. He also won the MotoGP Race here in 2022.

Phillip Island hosted its first motorcycle race in 1931. In 1956, a permanently constructed circuit started hosting motorcycle events until it fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s. The circuit made a comeback and hosted its first MotoGP events in 1989 and 1990 after extensive renovation and became a regular fixture from 1997 onwards. Thanks to its terrific coastal location and its flowing 4.45 km layout, featuring seven left and five right corners and a 900m longest straight, the Phillip Island track is loved by fans and MotoGP riders alike. However, 2026 will mark the circuit's final appearance on the MotoGP calendar.

Fabio Quartararo: "I enjoyed the week off and used the time to recharge before these final races of the season. Phillip Island is a very unique circuit compared to most tracks we visit. It's also the last time we'll race here, so it will be special to experience the atmosphere one more time. For sure, I will give it my 100% as always."

Alex Rins: "I'm really happy to be back at Phillip Island. It's a track that I've always enjoyed, and I have many good memories here from different stages of my career. The layout is fantastic. Riding here this weekend, knowing that this is our final MotoGP weekend at Phillip Island, makes this round even more significant, so I want to enjoy every lap while also focusing on doing a good job for the team. We've had time to prepare during the break, and now I'm looking forward to getting started."

Massimo Meregalli - Team Director: "After a one-week break, we arrive at Phillip Island refreshed and ready for the second leg of the Asian-Oceanian flyaways. This circuit is one of the most iconic venues on the calendar and is loved by riders, teams, and fans alike because of its unique layout and spectacular setting. It's always a special place to race. At the same time, it's a demanding track where changing weather and wind conditions can play a significant role throughout the weekend. We come here motivated after some positive signs in the previous rounds, and our goal is to continue building on that progress. As always, a strong start on Friday will be important to put ourselves in the best position for the rest of the weekend. It's our last time enjoying this special track, so we want to give the fans the best show possible."

More, from a press release issued by Prima Pramac Yamaha:

Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP heads to Phillip Island for a special Australian Grand Prix, with Toprak Razgatlıoğlu ruled out and Augusto Fernandez stepping in.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will miss the Australian Grand Prix following the injury sustained at Mandalika, with Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez set to replace him at Phillip Island. Meanwhile, Jack Miller prepares for his final home Grand Prix in MotoGP at a circuit hosting its last race on the championship calendar.

Two weeks after the difficult Indonesian Grand Prix, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP returns to action at Phillip Island for a particularly significant weekend. Unfortunately, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will be unable to take part following further medical examinations in Milan, which confirmed that the injury sustained in his highside crash at Mandalika requires surgery. The procedure is scheduled for Monday, October 26, after which the Turkish rider will focus on his recovery. Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez is planned to step in for him at the Australian Grand Prix.

Despite Toprak's absence, the weekend remains a special occasion for the team, and especially for Jack Miller. The 2026 Australian Grand Prix will mark his final home race in MotoGP after a career in the World Championship that began in 2011. The Australian will return to Phillip Island next year in the Superbike World Championship, but this weekend will be his last opportunity to race in front of his home fans in the premier class. The significance of the occasion is reflected in Turn 4, officially named Miller Corner in his honour in 2022.

Phillip Island has also been the setting for some memorable moments in Miller's career. In 2014, he delighted his home fans by winning the Moto3 race in a thrilling finish, before returning to the podium in the premier class in 2019 with a third-place finish. These results have helped strengthen his special connection with the circuit, making this final MotoGP home Grand Prix an even more meaningful occasion.

Set against the spectacular scenery of the Bass Strait, Phillip Island is renowned for its fast, flowing layout and the exciting racing it produces. The 4.45-kilometre circuit first hosted a Motorcycle World Championship Grand Prix in 1989 and has been a regular fixture since 1997, becoming a favourite among riders and fans alike. Its combination of long corners, rapid changes of direction and unpredictable conditions makes it a unique challenge. The 2026 event will provide a final opportunity for the MotoGP paddock to enjoy this legendary venue before the championship moves to Adelaide in 2027.

For Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, the focus will be on making the most of this important weekend, supporting Fernandez as he steps in for Razgatlıoğlu and giving Miller the best possible opportunity to deliver a strong performance in front of his home fans. After a difficult run of races, the team will aim to continue working towards improved competitiveness while marking a memorable occasion in the history of MotoGP at Phillip Island.

Jack Miller: "I'm really looking forward to my home Grand Prix. It's going to be a special weekend for both myself and the team, as it will be my last home race in MotoGP before moving to Superbikes, and also the last time MotoGP races at Phillip Island. This place has given me some great memories, so it's going to be an emotional one. We've got something special planned for the fans, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with everyone and making the most of this weekend. It's a shame Toprak won't be able to join us this weekend. I know he was looking forward to riding here, so I wish him all the best with the surgery and recovery. Hopefully, he'll be back feeling strong soon."

Augusto Fernandez: "First of all, I want to send my best wishes to Toprak for his recovery. I hope everything goes well with the surgery and that he can get back on the bike as soon as possible. For me, it's really exciting to be back racing, especially with a great team like Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP. I'm looking forward to getting on the bike, starting to work with the team and doing my best over the next few races."

Gino Borsoi - Team Director: "The Australian Grand Prix will be an important weekend for the whole team, and especially for Jack, as it will be his final home race in MotoGP. Naturally, we want to give him the opportunity to achieve a strong result in front of his home fans.  Unfortunately, Toprak will not be able to race following his injury, and we are sorry to see him miss such an important event. Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez will step in for him this weekend, and we will do our best to support him as he joins the team.
We wish Toprak all the best with his surgery and recovery, and hope to see him back on the bike as soon as possible. We are coming off a difficult period, and I believe the team deserves better results after all the hard work everyone has put in. At the same time, we know we need to do a better job ourselves and find ways to make the bike more competitive. I hope Phillip Island can be a turning point for the final part of the season, and we will work hard throughout the weekend to make another step forward."

More, from a press release issued by Honda HRC:

Luca Marini heads for final Phillip Island weekend.

Honda HRC Castrol will contest the Australian GP with Luca Marini as their lone representative, Joan Mir continuing his recovery while Aleix Espargaro heads for surgery.

The 2026 Australian Grand Prix will be the last race held at Phillip Island before the race heads to Adelaide from 2027. A circuit beloved by fans and riders alike, this weekend's edition looks set to be an extra special one as everyone goes out for a final moment of glory. From taking the first win around the 4.45-kilometre circuit in 1989 with Wayne Gardner to collecting a total of 15 premier class wins, Phillip Island will always hold fond memories for Honda.

After a more complicated than expected weekend in Indonesia, Luca Marini is aiming to return to form and bring the fight to the top riders once again. 2025 saw the Italian score a pair of top ten finishes at the always unpredictable Phillip Island circuit - equalling his best premier class finish in Australia. 12th in the World Championship standings and only 17 points shy of the top ten, the weekend presents a good opportunity to close the gap to Aldeguer and Bastianini.

Joan Mir and his medical team are hard at work to return the #36 to the circuit but have deemed the Australian GP in Phillip Island too early and will continue to assess his condition.

After voluntarily withdrawing from the Indonesian Grand Prix, Aleix Espargaro will not travel to Australia after experiencing Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome during a private test at the Sepang International Circuit. The Honda HRC Development Rider will head for surgery in Barcelona in the coming days. He will not be replaced.

Luca Marini: "Back to work after a short break as we get ready for three races in a row. Phillip Island is a circuit that every rider loves, coming down the straight with just the sea in front of you is something very unique and of course the layout is like nothing else on the calendar. The objective is to enjoy this weekend and capture as many points as possible, I know the team have been working even during this week between races to try and improve our performance. Five races left, five chances to show all that we have achieved together these past years."

More, from a press release issued by Pertamina Enduro VR46:

Everything is ready for the last dance of Phillip Island. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli will go on track this weekend in Phillip Island, which will host the Australian GP for the last time in MotoGP.

MotoGP is back in action this weekend for the Australian GP, which kicks off the second part of the Overseas. Phillip Island will host for the last time the Down Under round, so the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is ready to end this chapter on one of the most iconic tracks of the calendar.

Di Giannantonio arrives to Australia in sixth place in the World Standing with 245 points, aiming to build on the positives from Indonesia. Phillip Island is one of Fabio's favourite circuits, where he secured a second-place finish in Moto3 in 2018 and claimed his first MotoGP podium with a third place in 2023. The rider from Rome stood on the podium last year too, finishing the Sunday's race in second place, his best results in the premier class at the Australian GP.

Following a weekend in Indonesia that confirmed the progress he has been making, Morbidelli arrives in Australia aiming to continue working and improving. At Phillip Island, Franco secured a second-place finish in 2017 and a third-place finish in 2017 (both in Moto2), while his best MotoGP result at the circuit is a fifth place, achieved in 2024. Last year, the Italian-Brazilian rider made some impressive comebacks, and he is now ready to hit the track at Phillip Island for the final time in the premier class. He currently sits sixteenth in the World Standing with 59 points.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will hit the track on Friday for free practice, while qualifying will take place on Saturday at ore 10:50 (local time, +11 UTC). The Sprint will get underway at 3:00 pm (local time, +11 UTC) on Saturday, while the Australian GP will conclude on Sunday with the main race, starting at 2:00 pm (local time, +11 UTC).

Fabio Di Giannantonio: "I have a special connection with the Phillip Island circuit. Overall, it's a unique weekend on the calendar because the atmosphere is different from that of other races, and it brings the team closer together away from the track. The circuit itself is incredible and gives me a real boost. I am sorry because I've created some great moments and memories here. For this final race, we'll carry over the strong pace and all the positives from last weekend. I feel confident, and we won't give up!"

imageFranco Morbidella (21) at Mandalika. Photo courtesy VR46 Team.

Franco Morbidelli: "Phillip Island is a beautiful circuit, and hopefully the weather will be good because, when conditions are favourable, the track is even more spectacular! I've always enjoyed racing here. In the past, I've fought for top positions, and we've had some positive weekends. We're coming into the Australian GP feeling very motivated because we showed further progress in Indonesia, and our goal is to build on that here in Australia. The aim will be to put together a clean weekend, continuing to improve session after session."

Introducing: MotoGP™ Academy [ 22-Oct-26 12:16pm ]

A new program launches on the Road to MotoGP, promoting the sport around the world and further increasing accessibility to motorcycle racing.

The Road to MotoGP is expanding with the launch of an all-new concept: MotoGP Academy. The seal of MotoGP Academy will be granted to racing schools and institutions around the world that ensure the highest standards on and off track, creating a global network of elite racing schools to develop the sport, particularly in regions that are underserved today.

MotoGP Academies will give young riders around the world a valuable new opportunity to grow and learn in environments designed to deliver the best possible experience, all guaranteed by the MotoGP Academy seal. In addition to developing young talent through the highest standards of excellence, each Academy will promote and serve as ambassadors for two-wheel racing, becoming local hubs for MotoGP and bringing the championship closer to fans.

To earn a place in this elite network and become a MotoGP Academy, partners must meet rigorous requirements across infrastructure, training methodology, technical execution, and brand visibility. MotoGP then invest directly in every branch's success — providing tailored toolkits, activation support and branding, alongside exclusive discounts on MotoGP products.

Once granted their place on the Road to MotoGP, each MotoGP Academy will bear the name of their nation, region or continent, following the highly successful example of the FIM MotoMini World Series. Larger nations and markets can have multiple MotoGP Academies, where others will have a national Academy that serves as the hub within that country. Key markets for the sport and those with even greater scope for growth will be a point of focus for the new MotoGP Academy program.

Once granted their seal, each Academy will serve as an ambassador for the sport itself, bringing MotoGP closer to fans and driving talents of the future towards sustained success. With a network across the world promoting the sport and ensuring the highest accessibility for fans and prospective riders alike, MotoGP Academy will beckon the next stage of success for the Road to MotoGP.

Women Take Center Stage at CRA's 2026 Season Finale as MotoAmerica Hooligan Champion Bryce Kornbau Sets New Lap Record

BUTTONWILLOW, CA — The California Roadrace Association (CRA) wrapped up its 2026 season with an unforgettable, action-packed Round 4 finale at Buttonwillow Raceway Park that celebrated women in motorsport, strengthening the racing community, and delivering record-breaking performances on the track.

The weekend kicked off Friday with a Compact Octane track day welcoming 45 women to the circuit, made possible through an initiative led by supermodel Jordan Rand alongside Women of Go, Compact Octane Track Days, Let's Ride Track Days, and CRA. Demonstrating CRA's commitment to growing the sport, 21 women earned their race licenses through the New Racer Orientation. By Saturday, an empowering lineup of 33 women gridded up for the Ladies of CRA races; a testament to what happens when the racing community rallies together.

Losing MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Bobby Fong to OrangeCat Racing for the 2027 MotoAmerica Superbike season may be only part of a massive shakeup at the Championship-winning Attack Performance Progressive squad. It is entirely possible that three of the top four in the 2026 Superbike Championship standings - the top Yamaha riders in the series - will be riding for new teams next year, or may find themselves entirely out of a ride.

Just days ago, Fong announced that he would ride a BMW M 1000 RR for the OrangeCat team, which came up just short of winning the Superbike title in its first attempt. The team ran an M 1000 RR for Sean Dylan Kelly, who took three wins and was in contention for the Championship until the final race. Kelly is slated to race alongside Fong out of the OrangeCat stable in 2027.

Since then, Mathew Scholtz, the 2025 Supersport Champion who raced a Yamaha YZF-R1 in Superbike for Strack Racing in 2026, winning five races en route to third in the Championship, has announced that he is leaving the Strack team. There is no official comment as to where he is going, but reports from the paddock indicate that Scholtz is headed for Attack, where he will find the YZF-R1 he is familiar with.

"Mathew has been an important part of our team and has helped us achieve significant milestones on and off the track. We are grateful for the effort, determination, and passion he brought to Strack Racing throughout our time together," the team posted on social media.

In addition, multiple racing websites based out of Europe are reporting that MotoGP and World Superbike race winner Danilo Petrucci has agreed to terms with Attack to race another YZF-R1 in MotoAmerica. Petrucci raced for Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York in MotoAmerica Superbike in 2022, winning the first three races and two more throughout the season. Despite adding 11 more podiums, Petrucci finished second in the Championship to Jake Gagne on - an Attack Performance YZF-R1. Petrucci rode the factory BMW in the Superbike World Championship in 2026, but underperformed badly and was sidelined for several races with injuries.

When asked if he would accept an offer from Attack to race MotoAmerica Superbike in 2027, Petrucci told the GPOne over the weekend: "I think so, because it is the same thing that happened here last year with BMW: they were the ones who came looking for me and wanted me, so I think it's right to follow the motto: 'Those who love me, follow me', rather than trying to force things, because they don't work out well that way," he said.

"As for America, they (Attack) approached me and it's something I like. Also because it's the team that won this year and the one I battled with in 2022, the year I raced there. They are certainly very well prepared and, as I said, I still want to race and I would like to find something I enjoy and that motivates me. They are good options, but I still don't have a clear picture … there are still things they need to tell me."

Also unclear is the status of JD Beach, who rode for Attack in 2026 and finished fourth in the Championship with three wins.

The changes at OrangeCat and Attack are in addition to the addition of 2026 Supersport Champion Darryn Binder to the Warhorse HSBK Ducati Superbike team, riding alongside 2025 Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier.

The 2027 Shannons Australian Superbike Championship presented by Pirelli (ASBK) will officially commence alongside the 2026 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island from October 23-25, with a huge field of 31 riders to contest the season opener in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

Phillip Island will also be the dawn of a new ASBK era as it makes a groundbreaking switch to a summer-based calendar for the first time since the championship's inception in 1989, with rounds at The Bend (November 13-15, 2026), One Raceway (December 4-6, 2026), Queensland Raceway (January 15-17, 2027) and Phillip Island (February 19-21, 2027) to follow before the grand finale at Sydney Motorsport Park (March 19-20, 2027).

The entry list for the season opener runs deep, featuring a tasty intersection of seasoned stars, rookies, emerging talent and internationals as ASBK competes for official points at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix for only the second time in its 39-year history.

Spectators attending the grand prix will have multiple opportunities to meet the ASBK stars at autograph sessions over the three days, including a special one at the Shannons SuperRig from 2:30-3:00pm on Saturday featuring defending ASBK champion Harrison Voight, Jonathan Nahlous, Jacob Roulstone and Josh Waters.

Practice and qualifying for ASBK round one will be held on Friday, followed by two races on Saturday (12:10pm and 4:10pm) and one on Sunday (9am) - all 11-lappers.

There will be live and exclusive coverage of all three ASBK races on Fox Sports and Kayo, followed by a follow-up highlights show on SBS Sport on Sunday, November 8 with additional interviews and behind-the-scenes features.

Who can put the heat on Voight at Phillip Island?

There are candidates galore lining up to put the squeeze on Voight, who will continue at McMartin Racing Ducati in 2027 as he begins his quest to become the seventh rider to win consecutive ASBK titles.

Voight - the second youngest ASBK champion in history - always seems to find an extra step at the 4.448km grand prix circuit, which the lap record holder showed in February at the 2026 ASBK opener with two wins out of three races.

Roulstone (Honda) was the other winner in February as he made a stunning ASBK debut, while Cameron Dunker (Blue Marlin Pools East Racing Yamaha) - currently blazing a trail in the 2026 Aussie Flat Track Nationals - and Nahlous (Yamaha Racing Team) were the other podium finishers.

The trio is again expected to keep Voight on his toes alongside riders such as Josh Waters (DesmoSport Ducati), reigning No. 3 Cru Halliday (Stop and Seal Ducati), Glenn Allerton (Superbike Advocates Ducati) and Mike Jones (Yamaha Racing Team).

Change of scenery for Waters and Co

There's intrigue aplenty ahead of Phillip Island, dominated by the crafty Waters. The 39-year-old, who has been a mainstay of the ASBK paddock for three decades, has made a shock switch to DesmoSport Ducati after five seasons with McMartin Racing where he will attempt to win a sixth Superbike title aboard the latest evolution of the Panigale V4 R.

John Lytras (Addicted to Track Yamaha), Jack Favelle (Apex Racing Team Honda) and Marcus Hamod (Unitek Racing Yamaha) will also be out to land some early blows in their new pastures, while Queenslander Broc Pearson makes a popular return to the ASBK paddock on a TeamBWR Honda after missing the 2026 season.

Elsewhere, 18-year-old Jayden Martin (Yamaha) represents a new breed of ASBK aspirants as he brings his dominant West Aussie form onto the national arena - although he did recently win multiple titles at the 2026 Australian Historic Championship in his home state - while the international flavour will be courtesy of New Zealanders Luca Durning (Alex Racing Team BMW), Richard Markham-Barrett (Addicted to Track BMW) and Morgan McLaren-Wood (Blue Marlin Pools East Yamaha) and Japan's Kota Higuchi (Suzuki).

Who's going to come out on top in the high-stakes opener?

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu to miss Phillip Island and remainder of the 2026 season.

Following further medical examinations in Milan, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will undergo surgery on Monday, October 26, to address the injury sustained in his crash at Mandalika. The Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP rider will therefore miss the remainder of the season, with Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez planned to replace him for the upcoming races.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu travelled to Milan on Monday Oct. 21st for further medical examinations following the shoulder injury he sustained in a highside crash during the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika. Unfortunately, the latest assessments confirmed that the damage requires surgical treatment to ensure the best possible recovery.

In agreement with Toprak, surgery has been scheduled for Monday, October 26, in Milan. Following the procedure, the Turkish rider will focus on his rehabilitation, ruling him out of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island and the remaining rounds of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez is planned to step in for Razgatlıoğlu for the upcoming races. Yamaha and Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP wish Toprak a successful operation and a smooth recovery, and will support him throughout the rehabilitation process and thank Augusto Fernandez for stepping in to help.

Gino Borsoi: "We are very sorry for Toprak, as we know how much he wanted to race at Phillip Island and continue his journey with the YZR-M1. He has been working hard to adapt to MotoGP, and it is disappointing that this injury will prevent him from continuing that process over the coming races. However, his health must come first, and we will support him throughout his recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the bike when he is ready. At the same time, we welcome Augusto Fernandez, who will step in for Toprak at Phillip Island and until Toprak isn't ready to come back. As Yamaha's test rider, he knows the bike well, and we are pleased to have him joining the team for these events. We will work together to make the most of this opportunity while wishing Toprak a successful operation and a smooth recovery."

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu: "I'm extremely disappointed to miss the Australian Grand Prix. Phillip Island is one of my favourite circuits and a place where I've enjoyed some very special moments during my Superbike career. I was excited about the opportunity to race here on the MotoGP bike, which makes this situation even harder to accept. After further medical assessments following the crash in Mandalika, it became clear that my shoulder injury is worse than we first believed. As a result, I will undergo surgery in the coming days to give myself the best chance of making a full recovery and returning at 100%. This wasn't an easy decision, but after consulting with the doctors and the people closest to me, we are convinced it is the right step for my future. I would also like to wish Jack all the best for his home Grand Prix. Racing in front of your home crowd is always special, and with this being the final MotoGP event at Phillip Island, I hope he can enjoy a fantastic weekend and achieve a great result. I'll be cheering for him and the entire team from afar."

The #54 will be sidelined to recover, with the WorldSBK race winner stepping in at Gresini once again.

Fermin Aldeguer will be sidelined from the Australian GP following his recent hand injury. The #54 returned to Spain after his crash on Sunday in Indonesia and underwent surgery, and he's now full steam ahead on recovery in time for the Malaysian GP at Sepang.

"I had bad luck this year, now with my hand," Aldeguer recently told the WorldSBK team at Jerez, underlining his first target back. "It's less than one week after the injury so we have to stay calm and see if I can be back in Malaysia. It's our first goal. We will see."

In the meantime, Iker Lecuona will step in for Aldeguer this weekend for the Red Bull Australian GP. It's the third time the SBK Ducati rider returns to the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team this season, after subbing for Alex Marquez at Balaton and Aldeguer at Silverstone.

HOT HEADLINES: the final Phillip Island battle beckons for tight 2026 title fight.

A last chapter of history will be written as Phillip Island brings the end of the title showdown ever closer.

Phillip Island first showed us what it was all about in 1989 and has been the host of the Australian GP since 1997. Countless memories, showdowns and runs to the line have been witnessed in that time. Before we bid farewell to 'The Island' and write a new chapter in Adelaide from 2027, we could well be in for one of the most important Grands Prix of the season so far. Two points is the difference between two rivals who battled hard here two years ago, and the stakes couldn't be higher as the title race gets set for five GPs in six weeks where by the end of it all, one champion will be crowned.

image

MARTIN VS MARQUEZ: the title run-in intensifies

You'd have been a brave pundit to predict that Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) would leave Mandalika with the exact same two-point deficit as when he entered but that's what the reigning Champion did. An Aprilia 1-2-3-4 on Sunday, with Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) in third kept the Martinator ahead and whilst Aprilia were strong in Australia last year, it'll be new territory on the RS-GP for the #89. What we can hope for is a repeat of their epic, Grand Prix-of-the-season battle from 2024, that time going the way of the #93. As for 2026, Martin remains with just one victory but has been on the Grand Prix podium in the last three whilst Marquez only has six Sunday podiums - all of them victories.

BEZZECCHI RESILIENT: has he saved his Bezt until last?

It wasn't long ago that Bezzecchi's title hopes seemed to be fading but he, like Martin, has been on the podium in the last three GPs and finally got back to Grand Prix winning ways at Mandalika. Five of the last six GPs on the rostrums and Phillip Island's Sprint winner from 2025, the #72 is 46 points back from Martin but still very much determined in his bid for the title. He's 50 clear of Ai Ogura (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team), making it a realistic three-horse title fight with five rounds remaining. This was the part of the season last year where Bezzecchi seemed to have an extra gear and hit the form he carried into the early part of 2026 - can he do it again one year on?

CHASING PACK: 2026 Grand Prix winners and 2025 Phillip Island stunners

Ogura is fourth by a single point over Austrian GP winner Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), with the Spaniard not having the happiest of times in Japan or Indonesia. The battle for fourth is a four-way fight with Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) in hot pursuit whilst Raul Fernandez's (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) P2 at Mandalika reignites his charge. The #25 won in MotoGP for the first time at Phillip Island last year and it was Diggia who clinched P2 just behind, so 2026 could be interesting. Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini MotoGP Team), teammate Fermin Aldeguer and double World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) complete the top ten in the standings, but Aldeguer is once again on the sidelines after his hand injury picked up in Lombok, replaced by Iker Lecuona as he was earlier in the year.

imageJack Miller (43) at Mandalika. Photo courtesy Pramac.

FURTHER BACK: the tight battle just off the top ten, Miller readies for final home GP

Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) is just two points behind Aldeguer in the top ten battle overall and fellow countryman Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) is just a further 14 behind, hoping he can keep his streak of points in every GP in 2026 going Down Under. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) is just four points off Marini too, and has been a top eight finisher in the last three Australian Grands Prix, whilst top Yamaha Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) has enjoyed points in the last two Grands Prix and Sprints.
Top rookie in 2026 Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR) is tied on points with Quartararo and just 15 ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), who in-turn is just eight ahead of 2023 Australian GP winner Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR). All home eyes will be on Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP), however. He'll aim to bow out of MotoGP with one final strong showing at his home Grand Prix where he was mighty close to the Sprint podium in 2025. Teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu returns to a circuit he knows from WorldSBK, with his first points since Misano the target and Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) is one of five Australian GP winners lining up on the grid, the other being Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech3) who is also looking for more as he rebuilds from a long layoff. Joan Mir's (Honda HRC Castrol) attendance remains to be confirmed by Honda as he struggles with illness, so stay tuned for an update there.

Two points at the top, another key contender with an impressive form book and five GPs in six weeks await. There's plenty more to come in 2026 so get ready for another awesome, and final, show from the Island.

Irvine, CA (Oct. 20, 2026) — MotoAmerica, North America's premier motorcycle road racing championship, is proud to welcome back a trio of natural-terrain road courses that represent some of the most exciting and physically demanding races on the Superbike calendar each year. Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and VIRginia International Raceway tickets are now confirmed to be on sale for the 2027 MotoAmerica season.

The Quad Lock Superbike class storms back to Georgia, April 16-18 for three days with four additional feature classes at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. If last year was any indication, buckle up—the 2026 weekend kicked off the 50th anniversary Superbike season with Mathew Scholtz and Bobby Fong splitting the Superbike wins, Darryn Binder grabbing his first Supersport victory, Josh Herrin answering with a win and a new lap record, Hayden Gillim sweeping the Mission King Of The Baggers, and Kayla Yaakov making history as the first woman ever to take a MotoAmerica Supersport pole. The 2027 weekend brings Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers, Twins Cup and Talent Cup classes to the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Georgia roller-coaster.

Around the halfway point of the Superbike season, the series will return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca July 9-11 for the MotoAmerica Speedfest at Monterey Presented by Law Tigers event. Last July, the 2.24-mile, 11-turn legend delivered a weekend for the ages—JD Beach led every single lap of both Superbike races for a flag-to-flag double, the Supersport title fight went down to the Corkscrew itself with Binder and Herrin splitting wins, BPR Racing Yamaha teammates Bryce Kornbau and Andy DiBrino traded Super Hooligan wins by tenths, and home hero Kensei Matsudaira swept Talent Cup competition. The 2027 weekend features Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers, Mission Super Hooligan National Championship, and the Talent Cup—and the Corkscrew will be waiting.

And to close out the summer: MotoAmerica returns to VIRginia International Raceway, August 13-15. Last August, VIR produced one of the wildest weekends of the season—Bobby Fong stretched his personal VIR winning streak to four, Loris Baz stole the show with a dramatic victory, Darryn Binder survived a three-way Supersport dogfight, 16-year-old Hank Vossberg clinched the Twins Cup championship outright, Nathan Gouker swept his home Talent Cup round, and Josh Hayes collected career win number 90. The 2027 weekend brings Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Twins Cup and Talent Cup back to VIR's legendary 2.25-mile course.

Ticket options across all three weekends include General Admission and Military tickets, with upgrades available all weekend long: the two-seat Superbike experience, grid passes, the VIP Superfan package, and fan laps. Laguna Seca adds Turn 3 and high-speed hospitality — plus private suites now open for sale.

Brea, CA - Richard Gadson raced his RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Suzuki Gen 3 Hayabusa to the final round of eliminations for the eighth time this season, finishing as runner-up and extending his points lead in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs at the Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX, on Sunday.

Race Highlights

  • Richard Gadson qualified fifth, advanced to his eighth final round appearance of the season and extended his lead in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs standings

  • Gaige Herrera qualified first, advanced to the second round and maintained second place in the Countdown

Near-perfect fall weather and ideal track conditions in Dallas set the stage for Texas Motorplex's Stampede of Speed, a week-long racing festival capped by the NHRA national event. The event frequently produces record-breaking runs and late-season upsets that shake up the standings deep into the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Richard Gadson qualified fifth with a 6.692-second/202.07 mph run on Saturday.

Gadson opened Sunday's elimination rounds by defeating Marc Ingwersen (6.835 seconds/197.10 mph) with a 6.694-second/201.88 mph run in the first round, then knocked out Angie Smith (8.940 seconds/95.65 mph) in round two with a 6.719-second/201.13 mph pass.

In the semifinal round, Gadson defeated Steve Johnson (6.780 seconds/198.59 mph) with a 6.703-second/201.30 mph pass to advance to his eighth final-round appearance of the season and 17th of his career.

But despite posting a career-best 6.654-second/203.79 mph run in the final round, Gadson lost on a hole shot to Matt Smith, whose .027-second starting line advantage combined with a 6.660-second/203.08 mph pass was just quick enough to edge out the defending world champion.

With the runner-up finish, Gadson extended his lead in the Countdown to the Championship standings to 58 points over teammate Gaige Herrera with two races remaining in the six-race playoffs. Smith made up some ground in third place, closing to within 85 points of Gadson.

"A .030 on the tree is a very respectable light but it isn't going to cut it right now. The class is that tight. Gaige and I both had similar lights in the rounds we lost today despite running in the 6.60s. That's tough racing," Gadson said. "I've been to the last three final rounds, and my goal is to get to the finals in the next two races. I've just got to keep fighting to withstand the assault that's coming from behind me."

Looking ahead to the next race in Las Vegas and the season finale in Pomona, Gadson hopes to improve his qualifying performances in order to earn more points and put himself in the best position on the ladder heading into the elimination rounds.

"We haven't had the best qualifying efforts the last couple of races, so I haven't been getting many bonus points," he said. "We're definitely hoping to pick that up in the next two races because I have a feeling those points are going to matter here at the end of the year."

imageGaige Herrera opened the weekend with a No. 1 qualifying effort at the Texas NHRA FallNationals. Photo courtesy Suzuki.

Gaige Herrera ran 6.651 seconds at 203.05 mph on Saturday, earning his fourth number one qualifying spot of the season and the 35th of his career.

In round one, Herrera ran 6.669 seconds at 202.46 mph, the low elapsed time of the round, against Hector Arana Jr. (foul). But despite making a nearly identical 6.669-second/202.68 mph pass in round two, Herrera wasn't quick enough on the starting line to advance against veteran Suzuki rider Steve Johnson, who posted the quickest run of his 40-year career, a 6.673-second/201.23 mph pass that beat Herrera on a hole shot. Suzuki congratulates Johnson on his personal-record-setting run.

Thanks to qualifying bonus points, Herrera had whittled Gadson's lead down to 18 points prior to the start of eliminations, but the early exit was a setback in the two-time champion's quest for a third title. Herrera now sits 58 points behind Gadson and will be looking for a reversal of fortunes in Las Vegas in two weeks.

"My Hayabusa was like a bracket bike this weekend, running consistently in the 6.60s, but I just got edged out there in the second round. Steve Johnson was a little better on the tree, and his win light came on. That's good racing and I can't really be mad about it," Herrera said. "Losing that round didn't set me too far back, but I'm not one to focus on counting points. I'm focused on winning a third championship. I'm still in the fight and it's going to be a fight to the end."

RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Suzuki crew chief Andrew Hines said the track preparation and cool weather in Dallas produced the type of conditions tuners dream of when trying to produce the high horsepower numbers that result in quick elapsed times and fast top speeds.

"It was a killer racing surface and the best weather conditions we've seen in years. The only thing we were missing was a tailwind. As a tuner, you dream of weekends like this. We had fast motorcycles and proved we're here to battle for the championship, but we came up short and didn't come home with the Wally," Hines said. "We're going to keep doing what we do in Las Vegas, try to gobble up all the qualifying points and narrow the championship down to just Richard and Gaige heading into the finale in Pomona."

With two races remaining in the Countdown to the Championship, Gadson and Herrera sit first and second in the standings, with 2,475 and 2,417 points, respectively.

The RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines team returns to action Oct. 29-Nov. 1 for round five of the Countdown to the Championship at the MOPAR NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, in Las Vegas, NV.

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) are pleased to announce that Diogo Moreira will join the Honda HRC Castrol factory team for the 2027 FIM MotoGP World Championship in a multi-year agreement, lining up alongside Fabio Quartararo as a new era begins.

The 22-year-old Brazilian steps up from LCR Honda, where he has spent his rookie premier-class season after signing an HRC contract off the back of his impressive Moto2 World Championship campaign. With five wins, 13 podiums and nine pole positions across the lightweight and middleweight classes, Moreira's trajectory from entering the World Championship in 2022 to MotoGP in 2026 has been meteoric.

Crowned Moto2 World Champion in 2025 in just his fourth season racing on the world stage, a breakthrough first intermediate-class victory at Assen saw him fight back through the standings to take the title. The blend of raw speed, race craft and composure under pressure convinced HRC he was ready for the premier class and a clear star of the future.

His first year in MotoGP confirmed that judgement. Moreira approached the season with a clear plan and built his confidence and understanding of the Honda RC213V step by step until a breakout weekend at the Catalan GP where he achieved his first top ten finish. Since then, he has consistently battled for top Honda honours in the majority of races. A debut Sprint podium at HRC's home race in Motegi proved he was ready for the factory team.

The #11 will join Fabio Quartartaro in the Honda HRC Castrol team on a multi-year contract as the MotoGP World Championship transitions to a new set of technical regulations. A combination of proven success and youthful promise, the 2027 Honda HRC Castrol line up heads into the new season with the objective of returning Honda HRC back to the top of the MotoGP World Championship standings.

Moreira will not be the first Brazilian to ride for the factory Honda squad in the premier class, Alex Barros earning four podiums during the 2004 MotoGP season with the Honda RC211V.

Diogo Moreira: "It is a fantastic feeling to arrive to the factory Honda HRC team in MotoGP, it is something that every rider dreams of when they are young. I want to say thank you to everyone in Honda HRC for putting their faith in me and making the next step in this project. So far in 2026 we have done a great job to adapt to the bike and the sensations for the future are already very positive from what we have seen. Of course, I must also say thank you to everyone in LCR who have helped me in my adaptation to MotoGP - the whole team has been crucial in this development. I am looking forward to next year and to helping Honda HRC return to where they must be."

Yuzuru Ishikawa - General Manager, Motorcycle Racing Division, Honda Racing Corporation: "Moreira has always been able to adapt to new bikes quickly, everything from motocross to Moto3, Moto2 and now MotoGP. This is the sign of a talented rider and as HRC, we aim to keep supporting Diogo in the next step of his career and in the next step of our plan to return to fighting for the World Championship. We have a highly competitive rider line-up next season across Honda HRC Castrol and the LCR Team and I am sure that all of these riders will push each other not only to raise their level on track, but also to help HRC's engineers create the best bike possible in this new era of racing."

Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira made his MotoGP debut in 2026 with the Pro Honda LCR team. So far, in his rookie season, he has achieved an impressive second-place finish in the Sprint at the Japanese Grand Prix, secured several top-10 finishes, and collected a total of 74 points across the first 17 Grands Prix.

With the season still underway, the team would like to thank Diogo for his commitment, determination, hard work, and ability to learn and adapt to new challenges and situations. Beyond his performance on track, the team also appreciates his laughter, his sense of humour, and the charisma he brings to the garage every day.

It has been a rewarding, joyful, and truly special journey. The Pro Honda LCR team would like to thank Diogo for the moments shared, both on and off the track, and wish him all the best for the future.

He has shown great determination, a strong desire to learn, and the speed to fight at the highest level. We have shared a special season together, both on and off the track, and we would like to thank him for his hard work and commitment. We wish him all the best for the future".

Two wheels meet four at one of the world's greatest racetracks in Austin, Texas.

MotoGP will bring the world's fastest motorcycles to the FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2026 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), with four premier-class machines set to take to the track for a high-speed demonstration on Saturday.

Capable of speeds exceeding 225mph and lean angles of more than 60 degrees, MotoGP bikes represent the pinnacle of two-wheel racing. In a landmark moment for global motorsport, the demonstration and wider fan activations will see the inclusion of MotoGP during a Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend for the first time, in front of a crowd of more than 400,000 fans expected across the event.

MotoGP Hall of Fame inductee Dani Pedrosa (KTM), 2027 MotoGP rider and current WorldSBK World Champion Nicolo Bulega (Ducati), and MotoGP test riders Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha) and Lorenzo Savadori (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) will take to the iconic Austin circuit, giving Formula 1 fans a rare opportunity to experience the speed and sound of MotoGP up close, with bikes capable of producing more than 130 decibels of noise.

The showcase will take place on Saturday, 24 October, from 11:40am to 12:00pm CDT, with riders completing high-speed laps around COTA ahead of Free Practice 3.

With the MotoGP World Championship competing in Australia on the same weekend, the showcase provides a unique opportunity to bring MotoGP directly to one of the biggest sporting events in the United States and one of the most attended motorsport weekends in the world.

In addition to the on-track action, MotoGP will host a dedicated fan activation in the circuit Fan Zone throughout the weekend, featuring the four motorcycles on display and opportunities for fans to get closer to the sport.

MotoGP teams and riders will be onsite from Thursday through Sunday as the championship continues to build momentum towards its 2027 Grand Prix of the United States, which returns to COTA from April 23-25, 2027.

Dani Pedrosa, who won three Grand Prix World Championships across the 125cc and 250cc classes, said: "It's always special to ride a MotoGP bike at COTA, one of the most iconic circuits in the world.

"The United States Grand Prix is a truly unique and special event on the F1 calendar, attracting an incredible crowd and providing a great opportunity to give fans a taste of what makes MotoGP so exciting. The speed, the sound and the performance of these bikes is something you have to experience in person, and I'm looking forward to sharing that with everyone in Austin."

Nicolo Bulega, current WorldSBK World Champion with Ducati, who will make the switch to compete in MotoGP next season as part of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, added: "This is a fantastic opportunity to put MotoGP in front of one of the biggest crowds in world motorsport. The atmosphere at COTA is always incredible, and to ride a MotoGP bike in front of so many fans will be a special experience.

"MotoGP bikes are unlike anything else, and hopefully the laps will show just how spectacular our sport is. We're looking forward to putting on a great show and giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect when I return with MotoGP to Austin in 2027."

New AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Exhibit Tells the Story of Harley-Davidson's Triumphant Comeback

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story" explores the shared leadership and teamwork behind the company's turnaround and invites the Harley-Davidson community to help bring the story to life in new exhibit.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — A new exhibit at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, explores the people, culture, and shared leadership behind Harley-Davidson's remarkable revival in the 1980s and 1990s.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story," features the work and contributions of former Harley-Davidson CEO and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Richard Teerlink and chronicles the company's journey from near-bankruptcy in the 1980s to massive market success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The exhibit examines how Harley-Davidson moved away from a traditional hierarchical management model and embraced trust, employee participation, shared responsibility and collective ownership. The company's turnaround helped shape the global motorcycling industry, and its approach to leadership has offered lessons in the power of working together that extend beyond motorcycling, including in university business programs.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story," opened with a ribbon cutting and public celebration on Oct. 17 during the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame's Fall Bike Night.

The exhibit's opening also launched the "We Did It Together" Mural Campaign , giving the Harley-Davidson community a chance to become part of the exhibit's completed mural, which opens next year.

"We're grateful to Ann Teerlink, Jeff Westphal and everyone who helped bring 'We Did It Together' to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and excited to share this story with the Harley-Davidson community and motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "Harley-Davidson's history is deeply connected to the people who built, rode and supported the brand, and this exhibit gives us an opportunity to celebrate those people while preserving an important part of motorcycle history."

The exhibit features a timeline with historic photographs and key company milestones from 1980 through 2005, along with a one-of-a-kind collection of Teerlink's four Anniversary Electra Glide motorcycles, presented to him for Harley-Davidson's 85th, 90th, 95th and 100th anniversary celebrations.

"We Did It Together" was created by a group of family, friends and former Harley-Davidson executives who helped bring this leadership story to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

"Rich taught me that mutually beneficial relationships are what matters most," said Jeff Westphal, a longtime friend and mentee of Teerlink who helped bring the exhibit to life. "I'm proud to help bring his story to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and excited to celebrate Rich, Harley-Davidson and the culture of meaning, trust and support he helped create."

Become part of the "We Did It Together" exhibit

Members of the Harley-Davidson community are invited to become part of the permanent exhibit.

Community members can submit photographs of themselves, family members or loved ones whose lives were connected to the brand — from factory employees and H.O.G. riders to dealership team members, rally attendees, veterans and lifelong enthusiasts.

With a donation to the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation (AMHF), selected photographs will become part of a permanent mural featured in the exhibit. Photos and donations can be submitted through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame's "We Did It Together" exhibit page.

Campaign photo submissions will be accepted through July 31, 2027. The completed mural is scheduled to be unveiled Oct. 12, 2027.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story" is on display at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, 13515 Yarmouth Dr., Pickerington, Ohio.

Taking no time away from racing since wrapping up the 2026 MotoAmerica Talent Cup season, Team Roberts rider Kensei Matsudaira made his Supersport 600 debut in South Korea this weekend in the All Korea Road Race Championship (AKRC) at the Korea International Circuit. As part of the Korea World Bike Festival being held during the same race weekend at the former Formula 1 venue, Kensei also joined the FIM Ohvale GP-7 Asia  Challenge representing the US from FIM North America.

Piloting a Honda CBR600RR for the first time, Kensei quickly adapted to the bike and track, earning pole position for the SS600 race on Sunday.

On board the Ohvale GP-7 also for the first time, Kensei qualified on pole position while setting a new circuit lap record for the category with a lap time of 1:24.738.

In the first GP-7 Asia Challenge race on Sunday, Kensei fought in a 3-rider lead group and took the win in the 8-lap race.

In the second GP-7 Asia Challenge race, Kensei and another rider broke away from the rest of the riders and battled to the finish with Kensei crossing the line in P2, just 0.08 seconds behing the winner despite struggling with bike issues during the race. The second race being worth double points, Kensei finished 2nd overall in the first international Ohvale GP-7 championship.

The sole SS600 race of the weekend saw Kensei break away from the start, leading from start to finish and winning in dominant fashion with a gap of over 15 seconds to second place.

Kensei Matsudaira: "It was amazing to be able to race in Korea, one of my home countries, and take some wins today. The KIMA Racing Honda CBR600RR was great to ride, it was set up perfectly and I was able to get up to speed quickly. Due to the weather I couldn't push for a lap record but I know I will be able to take what I learned this weekend on this bike and apply it to my next race in Japan. A huge thank you to FOMS, KMG, KIMA Racing for their support, I had a great time. I can't wait to come back and race here again!"

Arney Wick, Team Roberts Co-Principal: "All I could add would be another job well done for Kensei, and we look forward to physically participating in the next upcoming round at Suzuka, Japan!"

Kensei and Team Roberts now make their way to Japan as Kensei prepares to make his All Japan Road Race Championship (JRR) debut on board a Honda CBR600RR in the highly competitive Stock 600 category in the 58th MFJ Grand Prix Superbike Race at Suzuka Circuit, held from October 24th-25th, 2026.

Daytona Beach, FL. — The American Superbike Racing Association (ASRA) today announced that Cole Varnes of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, has been selected as the recipient of the ASRA Rising Stars Award. The honor recognizes the 15-year-old racer's outstanding competitive performances in the ASRA series combined with the professionalism, focus, and character he has demonstrated away from the racetrack. As part of the award, ASRA will cover entry fees for any ASRA races Varnes wishes to enter during the 2027 season.

Varnes has quickly established himself as one of the top young talents in ASRA competition. Competing primarily in the Atlantic Region, he currently leads championship standings in multiple classes, including Lightweight GP Expert, GTL, Thunderbike, Lightweight Superbike, and the Overall Championship. His results come while racing against experienced club-level competitors on the East Coast. Earlier in his development he also posted strong results in flat track, including a District 6 Flat Track Championship in the 250 Class.

Beyond the stopwatch, ASRA officials and team members have noted Varnes' maturity for his age. A sophomore at Exeter High School, he balances school responsibilities with a demanding race schedule while remaining a positive presence in the paddock. His family-supported effort—led in large part by his father, Mike Varnes—has been central to his progress from mini racing and flat track into competitive road racing. Sponsors and team partners, including Karns Performance, have repeatedly highlighted his work ethic, coachability, and respectful attitude.

"Cole represents exactly the kind of rider we want to recognize with the Rising Stars Award," said ASRA partner Scott Gilbert. "His speed on the track is obvious, but what sets him apart is how he carries himself off the bike—as a student, a teammate, and a young professional who takes the sport seriously. We're excited to support him as he continues to develop in 2027."

The entry-fee coverage gives Varnes the flexibility to race as much of the 2027 ASRA schedule as he chooses while continuing his progression academically. With his current form and rapid development.

Varnes has used the ASRA series as a key development platform while advancing toward professional competition. He recently made his MotoAmerica Twins Cup debut and continues to work toward further opportunities. The Rising Stars Award acknowledges both his current results and his potential as a future leader in American road racing.

Ryde completes the #BSBthreepeat to make Championship history.

Kyle Ryde has made British Superbike Championship history by becoming the first rider in the 30-years of the series to win consecutive titles for two different manufacturers by successfully defending his title at Brands Hatch in the season finale.

The Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider also fittingly became the first rider to complete three in a row, since Niall Mackenzie accomplished the feat when the Championship began in 1996 through to 1998.

Ryde had successfully delivered two title victories with Yamaha in 2023 and 2024, before the defending champion lined up on the Ducati V4 R this season. The reigning champion got his title defence off to the best possible start with a treble win at the Oulton Park season opener, and his impressive momentum continued as he celebrated 16 race wins and a further 12 podiums to carry a 53-point lead into the season finale at Brands Hatch.

His advantage could have been more, had it not been for a component failure at the penultimate round of the season at Donington Park, when he was forced to retire out of the battle in race three, to end his impressive streak of 89 races without a DNF.

In the opening race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, Ryde finished second to his title rival Scott Redding, with the advantage reduced to 48 points ahead of the final raceday of the season. In race two, Ryde finished third as Redding took victory, but it was enough to write championship history with one race of the season remaining, to complete the historic #BSBthreepeat with 16 wins and 15 podiums from the 33 races.

  • Race 2

In the penultimate race of the season, Redding fought to the finish in the BSB title fight in race. The Hager PBM Racing Team rider battled with title rival Ryde for the victory, but ultimately despite taking the win, the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing team celebrated their title defence.

Redding launched off the line into the lead from Ryde and Ryan Vickers, but the defending champion was attacking, despite only needing to finish inside the top five to secure his record-breaking third title. He grabbed the lead at Paddock Hill Bend on lap two, with Redding instantly pushing to retaliate at Druids.

Redding was piling on the pressure, before making another move back on Ryde at Surtees with a decisive pass down the inside. Ryde then reclaimed the lead at Hawthorns at half race distance.

Ryde was holding off Redding but then he again went for a move with a bullish pass at Stirlings, which was the race-winning overtake as the reigning champion dropped to third behind Bradley Ray. However, after an incredible campaign, Ryde celebrated the title victory, to retain his number one plate.

  • Race 3

Vickers mastered the tricky wet conditions in the final ZYN British Superbike Championship race of the season to take the victory for Honda Racing UK at Brands Hatch, ahead of the triple champion Ryde.

At the start of the race, Vickers launched into the lead with one of his lightning starts to head the pack from Ryde, Redding and Leon Haslam, who moved ahead of Joe Talbot on the opening lap.

Vickers continued to maintain his edge over Ryde and Redding with Talbot just adrift of the leading trio, but the AJN Steelstock bimota rider was soon closing and by lap 11, he made a move on Redding to move third at Druids.

Talbot was pushing for his debut BSB podium in his rookie season and he delivered as he held an edge over Redding at the chequered flag ahead of Max Cook and Leon Haslam, who completed the top six.

image Kyle Ryde - Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing:

"Obviously the odds were in my favour coming into the weekend, but you never know what can happen at the final round, you saw what happened at Donington Park!

"We've done a good job all year and then there's doubts in your mind that it could really mean nothing if something went wrong, so there was a lot of pressure, not just on me but also the team to get the bike over the line. Every race I have finished has been in the top four and it has been an amazing season.

"This is the best title by miles. I say that because of the way I reacted going over the line, screamed for a good 15 seconds, it was quite embarrassing actually! It felt so good; I have grown up watching Scott on TV and I know what a good rider he is, so to beat him on the exact same machinery chalks off something in my head.

"Now it comes down to stats and trying to add to those. I really enjoy my racing, my goal was always to be BSB champion, and now I have done it three times. These are moments you remember your whole life, it doesn't last forever, so we need to cherish times like these when they come your way. I rode my heart out this season and now we can celebrate and start thinking about 2027!"

Game on: Relentless Redding attacks to win race one after fighting through from eleventh.

Scott Redding delivered an incredible victory in the opening British Superbike Championship race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, keeping the title fight alive ahead of tomorrow's season finale.

The Hager PBM Racing Team rider was bullish as he battled from eleventh on the opening lap to win the race to keep his title hopes alive, reducing the gap to 48 points ahead of tomorrow's two races with 70 points still available.

At the start of the race, Ryde hit the front of the pack from Ryan Vickers and Max Cook and the three were leading the podium fight, whilst Redding was languishing down the order in eleventh place on the opening laps.

However, the 'Comeback Kid', delivered just that and after holding a position in the top eight until the seventh lap, he soon began carving through the order in bullish style as the rain flags were displayed and withdrawn throughout the race.

Redding was relentless in his attack and he claimed sixth place from Bradley Ray as his rivals played it cautious because of the changing conditions, the 2019 champion was hunting and was up to fourth by lap ten.

At the front, Cook also saw his opportunity and he grabbed the lead at Surtees on lap 10, passing Ryan Vickers at Graham Hill Bend and then making his move on Ryde to hit the front of the pack.

A lap later and Ryde was having to hold off Redding, but the Hager PBM Racing Team dived down the inside at Paddock Hill Bend to move ahead and he then had Vickers to contend with for the next position. The Honda Racing UK rider traded places with Redding, before he was able to hold the edge, but Ryde wasn't settling for less than a podium and was into third as Cook dropped to fourth.

Redding held the lead before the race was red flagged for rain on lap 15 with Redding claiming the important victory ahead of Ryde, who had forced his way ahead of Vickers at Hawthorns two laps earlier.

It means that the title fight goes down to the final day of the season at Brands Hatch tomorrow, with Ryde aiming for the threepeat as Redding aims to make the most sensational BSB title fight comeback in history.

"I've got to stop doing this, I'm going to give myself a heart attack! After qualifying I knew I had my work cut out and I thought I was going to be third or fourth, but the others must've done a quick last lap on the last as I was seventh. Kyle was on pole and that wasn't what I needed.

"I got an average start and then just got absolutely abused into the first corner and that happened for like two or three laps, where I was just getting beaten up a little bit and I was just not getting the rhythm and I was being a little bit too careful.

"I thought just don't panic. Kyle was leading and I just thought get your head down, get through and I suddenly thought, I could get there, I could do the superman moves, so just keep going.

"I was banging laps after laps, not looking at anything apart from that group in front, the rain was coming and I just thought, keep going right now. I have got nothing really to lose, and I got through and had a battle at the front but the rain was changing on the track. I just gambled the cards; I think race direction played it at the right time. I lost the rear going into Hawthorns and I thought I've got to finish this lap.

"I just did that out of a little bit of desperation as when you don't have a choice you can do miracles sometimes. Yes, the weather played a part but the changes that we made on the bike helped me when I got my rhythm and so hopefully tomorrow we've got something that we can take to the battle.

"I'm looking forward to it. I'm ready to go to war. It's all we can do. I think Kyle is going to protect some points, but anything can happen, so we'll do what we can do."

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

THE PERFECT FAREWELL: Bulega rounds out WorldSBK career with victory, Sam Lowes denies Bautista podium. Rain fell in the final five laps of the race to add to the challenge, with Bulega beating Lecuona while Bautista fell agonisingly short of the rostrum.

Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) ended his time in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship career with his 52nd victory in the class, tying Troy Bayliss. He was ahead of teammate Iker Lecuona at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Andalucia in a race impacted by late rain. In the battle for third, Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) beat Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) on the final lap, denying the #19 a sensational podium in what could be his final race.

BULEGA SAYS GOODBYE WITH A WIN, BAUTISTA DENIED

Lecuona grabbed the holeshot into Turn 1 to lead the race, although Bulega responded at Turn 6 on the opening lap to re-take P1, although the big mover was Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team): he jumped up from sixth on the grid to immediately slot into a provisional podium spot. Bulega started eking out a gap over Lecuona while Bautista had to defend from Sam Lowes in the early stages of the 20-lap race. As the race approached the halfway mark, two-time WorldSBK Champion started building up a gap over the chasing Sam Lowes. With rain starting to fall in the final quarter of the race, the #14 closed the gap to Bautista but the fight went down to the final lap. The #14 made his move at Turn 5 to move into third and, after Bautista tried to run wide at Turn 6, the Brit held on to take the final place on the podium. Bulega went on to take his 52nd win in WorldSBK, putting him level with Troy Bayliss in fifth in the all-time list, while he'll go down in folklore as the last Pirelli race winner as they leave the Championship after this race. For Lecuona, it was his 34th WorldSBK rostrum while Sam Lowes took his 17th podium.

Jeremy Alcoba won the FIM Supersport World Championship Race Two Sunday at Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, in Spain. Riding his Kawasaki WorldSSP Team ZX-6R 636, the Spaniard won the 12-lap race by just 0.482 second.

His teammate, Dominique Aegerter was second, and Matteo Ferrari got third on his WRP Racing Ducati Panigale V2.

Can Oncu finished fourth on his Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing YZF-R9.

Former MotoAmerica regular Valentin Debise finished fifth, just 1.987 seconds behind the winner, on his Eastroc Evan Bros ZXMOTO 820RR.

Albert Arenas leads the championship with 389 points, 81 ahead of Valentin Debise who has 308 points. Jeremy Alcoba is third with 274 points.

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

GREEN CELEBRATIONS: Alcoba leads Aegerter in first Kawasaki 1-2 since 2016 as Ferrari takes bronze in red-flagged thriller. WorldSSP finished the 2026 season with a bang as, behind the podium celebration chaos, Perolari locked down the WorldSSP Challenge award.

Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) led the FIM Supersport World Championship field when the red flag was waved, ending the season's final Race 2 prematurely. Alcoba closes 2026 with an insane run of form, landing his fourth win in six races. Dominique Aegerter (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) showed tremendous speed, following his teammate into Parc Ferme for the silver medal. Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) finished the season with his third podium of the campaign. With that, WorldSSP closes the book on a sensational 2026 season which has featured 15 riders on the podium, a record in the class.

ARENAS TO THE MEDICAL CENTRE

Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) shot off the line from P3 to take the holeshot into Turn 1, and later Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) got up into the top three places at Turn 6 of the opening lap. He then tried a similar move on Arenas and Oncu on Lap 2, but he got twisted up on the brakes, and collided with the #75, sending both bikes tumbling. Arenas was taken to the medical centre where he was later diagnosed with multiple contusions.

A MAD DASH TO THE FINISH IN 2026

Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing), Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing), Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing), and Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) snatched up the newly vacated positions at the front, as they all saw themselves on the top step of the podium in the final race of the year. Both Kawasaki bikes charged up the grid from a P5 start for #52 and a P7 start for #77, with both riders into the top four by Lap 7. When Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) crashed out at Turn 8, of Lap 12, a red flag was waved for track conditions. With the race past the 2/3rd point, it was brought to a close early. Alcoba ended the season with a fourth win of the campaign, clinching third in the Riders' Championship away from the #61. The #77 finished P2 when the race was brought to an end, earning his first podium since Phillip Island 2022. Closing the season with a P3 result, Ferrari found the bottom step of the podium for the third time in his sophomore campaign in the class.

ONCU CLOSES 2026 IN P4

The Turkish rider had a tough break when the red flag was waved, as he was just two tenths behind Ferrari and was loading up for a fight in the last laps. He finished in P4, losing third in the Championship standings to Alcoba on the final day. Debise started from the back in P8 but led the race with ten laps to go. He fell behind the podium fight by Lap 12, and after a pass with contact, he had to give P7 back to Navarro after the FIM WorldSBK Stewards handed him an Irresponsible Riding penalty. He finished P5 when the race ended, an improvement from P10 in Race 1. Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) battled the Frenchman ahead of him throughout the race and will see his season end with a P6 finish at Jerez.

MAHIAS TAKES P7 FROM RACE 2

French veteran rider Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) improved his P11 grid start to P7, beating Spanish teammate Roberto Garcia by a quarter of a second after the #37 climbed up from P16. Rounding off the final top ten of the season,  Mattia Casadei (D34G WorldSSP Racing Team) finished in his grid start position of P9, and fellow Italian Filippo Farioli (VFT Racing Yamaha) took P10 from the final WorldSSP race of 2026.

NAVARRO DIAGNOSED WITH MILD CONCUSSION

Eric Fernandez (Cerba Yamaha Racing Team) crashed at Turn 6 of Lap 8 for his third crash in three races. Prior to his red-flag-inducing crash, Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) dropped down from starting on pole to sit P5 at the outset of Lap 2, and while he attempted a Turn 6 move on Lap 4, he punted Farioli wide and was obligated by FIM WorldSBK Stewards to drop a position to P7. The #9 crashed at Turn 8 and was later diagnosed with a mild concussion by the medical centre.

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

Ramos sends WorldWCR in2026 out with a bang, completing her maiden double ahead of Neila and Jones. The #15 took P3 with a breathtaking final corner move on the defending Champion as Ramos won Yamaha's final race in WorldWCR.

With the Women's Circuit Racing World Championship having been wrapped up by Maria Herrera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR) in Race 1 as she was crowned Champion in the class for the second time, Paola Ramos closed WorldWCR's third season in the Pirelli Spanish Round with a second win, capping off a triple crown of pole position and two wins at her home Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Andalucia. Behind her, Neila continued her podium streak, closing 2026 having taken silverware from every race. Chloe Jones took her second podium of the season, closing what has been a difficult 2026 season on a high note.

RAMOS AND NEILA SLUG IT OUT FOR THE TOP STEP

Ramos snagged the holeshot ahead of a soaring Yvonne Cerpa (MotosCerpa-Gradara Corse), who jumped up from P3 on the grid while Herrera and Neila lurked behind in P3 and P4. Herrera was back at the helm by Turn 2 of Lap 2 with no shortage of hunger for the top step after her 2026 coronation after Saturday's Race 1. Ramos wasn't going to stand by and allow the #6 her double, as she took back the lead on Turn 13 of the second lap. Ramos and Neila pulled away from the pack for most of the race. With three laps remaining, Ramos led Neila by just a quarter of a second. On the final lap, Neila had closed in and looked up the inside several times on the rookie, but she couldn't make a move stick and finished Race 2 in P2 for her 27th consecutive podium. Her tally stands just two shy of Herrera's all-time consecutive podium record. Ahead of her in P1, Ramos took her fifth WorldWCR win, buttoning up a perfect home round after taking pole on Friday and completing her first career WorldWCR double.

JONES AROUND THE OUTSIDE AT THE FINAL CORNER FOR P3

After falling backwards early, Chloe Jones (Monster Energy Crescent Yamaha) was back into her grid start position of P4 by Lap 5. She tailed the #6 by just two tenths on the final lap and pulled off a tremendous final corner move at Turn 13, going around the outside of the 2026 Champion to return to the podium for the first time since Misano. Herrera took P4 to close the season, and while it was her first time off the podium since Race 2 in 2025, she won't be too sore as she leaves Jerez with a Championship trophy for the second time in two seasons.

PONZIANI CLOSES THE SEASON FROM P5

Muklada Sarapuech (Yamaha AD78 FIMLA by EEST NJT Racing) led the second group in P6 early on as she sparred with Roberta Ponziani (Klint Racing Team) and Jones, but the #96 emerged at the top of that group at the chequered flag. Cerpa pulled no punches on the #6 as the pair traded tight moves for P3 from Laps 3-5, but she fell further down to a P6 finish, three tenths behind the Italian. Sarapuech was unlucky: while it looked like she might stage a comeback as she and Jones charged towards the front group at the head of the second group before her pace diminished in the final laps, sealing Race 2 in P7.

RELPH IMPROVES TO P8

The Australian rider Tayla Relph (Full Throttle Racing) finished Race 2 in P8, her best result since Round 2 of the season at Assen. Natalia Rivera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team) and Astrid Madrigal (Pons Italika Racing FIMLA) rounded out the top ten in Race 2, with the Spanish rider crossing the line  in P9 three seconds quicker than the #83 who took P10.

RUIZ RULED UNFIT AFTER TURN 1 CRASH

Pakita Ruiz (PR46+1 Racing Team) and Sara Sanchez (Hadden Racing Team) made contact and crashed out of the season's final race in the contest's opening corner. The #46 was later diagnosed with a broken big toe on her right foot, as well as an abrasion and contusion on her left hand.

Arenas on pole at home to lead Navarro and Oncu; tech issues trouble Debise to P12. Four manufacturers in the top six at Jerez in the season's final Superpole session.

The FIM Supersport World Championship rolled out on track to set their Race 1 grid for the final time in 2026 in their Tissot Superpole session. Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) will lead the pack at lights out on Saturday after grabbing his third pole of the 2026 season. Behind the #75, replacement rider Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) and Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) will fill out the front row in the first of WorldSSP's final two races.

NAVARRO TO THE FRONT ROW IN HIS SECOND SUPERPOLE SESSION

On his fourth lap of the session, Arenas set a new lap record and later improved it to 1'41.084s, claiming the third pole position of his rookie season. Arenas's countryman Navarro rides in place of Oli Bayliss (PTR Triumph Factory Racing), who is riding in BSB this weekend. He briefly led the session early on, fighting for P1 before crashing on Turn 6 with 30 minutes remaining. He dusted himself off and sent himself to P2, his time just three and a half tenths behind the 2026 WorldSSP Champion. Oncu briefly sat in pole position, but the Turk finished the session in third place for his seventh front row this season.

DOMI BACK IN BUSINESS LATE IN 2026

Picking up from his 2026 personal-best Superpole result last round of P8, Dominique Aegerter (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) raised the bar again with a 1'41.476s to finish as the top Kawasaki rider in P4. Just under a tenth behind his two-time WorldSSP Champion teammate, Jeremy Alcoba is looking to close out 2026 with the same strong pace he's shown over the last few rounds and will start from P5 on Saturday. Italian rider Mattia Casadei (D34G WorldSSP Racing Team) took pole at Jerez in 2025 and P6 on Friday in 2026, arriving as his best result of the season with a 1'41.626s time.

BOOTH-AMOS TO LEAD THE THIRD ROW

Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) climbed into contention to sit P2 with 15 minutes to go, but as faster laps piled in, his 1'41.649 time saw him to a P7 finish. Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) will ride determined to safeguard his top-ten finish as he starts from P8 after a 1'41.709s effort. The Italian looked strong on Friday, logging laps up around the front throughout the session. Alessandro Zaccone will look to attack this weekend as he sits in P11, a point behind Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha). On Friday, the #16 finished P9 with a 1'41.974s time. Simon Jespersen (EAB Racing Team) snagged himself a late P10 with a time six hundredths behind Zaccone for his first Friday top ten since Most back in May. Despite riding 16 laps in the morning's Free Practice, Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) was ruled unfit on Friday before the Superpole session, meaning he won't be able to dispute the third-place spot in the standings in the final round.

BULEGA LEADS THE WAY, BAUTISTA WITH A LATE CRASH

With scorching temperatures in the afternoon, very few riders improved their time in Free Practice 2 compared to the morning session. Bulega remained on top with his best time coming in FP1, setting a 1'38.155s. Sam Lowes was second on Friday with a 1'38.407s, more than two tenths behind Bulega, while it was the 2026 Champion's teammate who rounded out the top three. Lecuona set a 1'38.489s as he looks to end the 2026 campaign on a high. Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) was fourth and, again, it was his FP1 time which gave him is place on the combined classification after he set a 1'38.521s. Alberto Surra (Motocorsa Racing) was second in FP2 but his fastest time came in FP1 when he set a 1'38.597s as he finished fifth overall. Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven) finished in seventh place after posting a 1'39.681s in FP1. Tommy Bridewell (Superbike Advocates) was 13th while Loris Baz (MGM Optical Express Racing) was 15th; he set a 1'39.586s.

Matteo Ferrari was quickest during FIM Supersport World Championship Free practice Friday morning at Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, in Spain. DESIGN and ERGONOMICS

"With the new BMW F 450 RR, we have consistently translated the iconic design language of the S 1000 RR into the 48-hp class. The pronounced nose-down, tail-up stance, signature RR flyline, and distinctive winglets give it a clear forward orientation. At the same time, the asymmetrical side fairing panels with their characteristic gills, the split face, and the striking light signature take up defining elements of RR DNA and reinterpret them in a standalone, compact, and dynamic form. The bodywork, ergonomics, and riding position form a unified design that makes the supersport character immediately tangible."

Alexander Buckan, Head of Design BMW Motorrad

The new 2027 BMW F 450 RR: A lightweight supersport motorcycle.

The new BMW F 450 RR was developed as a standalone supersport motorcycle within the BMW F 450 model family. The focus was on signature BMW riding enjoyment, enabled by a supersport-specific chassis and geometry engineering, rigorous weight optimization, and a powerful parallel-twin engine.

The pronounced nose-down, tail-up stance gives the new F 450 RR a distinctly dynamic, front-wheel-oriented appearance. The signature RR flyline, asymmetrical side fairing panels, split face, and pronounced winglets take up the familiar BMW RR DNA and develop it further in a standalone, compact form. The gills on the right side are integrated into the fairing as a characteristic design element.

The characteristic, front-wheel-oriented flyline runs from the headlight across the fuel tank and two-piece seat to the functionally designed, slim tail section with discreetly integrated passenger grab handles. The light and agile appearance of the rear underscores the dynamic character of the new BMW F 450 RR.

Sporty, active ergonomics and equipment for controlled, dynamic riding.

A carefully engineered ergonomic triangle and clip-on handlebars directly connected to the forged-aluminum triple clamp provide a sporty and dynamic yet comfortable riding position. The bodywork and the 3.69-gallon fuel tank beneath it are shaped to provide secure support and effective knee grip.

The new BMW F 450 RR comes standard with a two-piece seat with a height of 31.1 inches. It offers a balanced combination of comfort and a sporty, active seating position. Original BMW Motorrad Accessories include the high Sport rider's seat (+0.79 inches) and low rider's seat (-0.59 inches) for individual ergonomic adjustment. The gearshift lever, footbrake lever, and side stand are made of forged aluminum. The passenger footpeg brackets are bolted to the rear frame—an exceptional feature in this vehicle class.

ENGINE

"In the BMW F 450 RR, the parallel-twin engine reveals its sporty side: eager to rev, strong in roll-on performance, and especially characterful thanks to its unique 135-degree crankpin offset. Together with the distinctive sound of the under-belly muffler, the compact and lightweight powertrain delivers an emotional riding experience—on winding country roads and the racetrack alike."

Massimiliano Chizzali, Project Lead BMW F 450 RR

Exceptionally smooth and characterful parallel-twin engine for sport riding pleasure.

For decades, BMW Motorrad F-series models have combined compelling all-around qualities and a high level of riding enjoyment with easy, confidence-inspiring control. With the new F 450 RR supersport motorcycle, BMW Motorrad brings this successful formula to the expanding BMW F 450 model family, providing an entry point into the world of BMW RR motorcycles.

The newly developed parallel-twin engine, first used in the BMW F 450 GS, combines forceful acceleration and strong roll-on performance with low vibration and low fuel consumption. For the F 450 RR, the engine has been specifically tuned for supersport use, while the stainless-steel under-belly muffler gives it a distinctive sound.

At just 3,000 rpm, 80 percent of maximum torque is already available. This provides strong acceleration and confident roll-on performance from low engine speeds. The technical basis is a displacement of 420 cc, resulting from a 72 mm bore and 51.6 mm stroke. The engine produces 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and reaches its maximum torque of 32 lb.-ft. at 6,750 rpm.

Characterful sound from a 135-degree crankpin offset and uneven firing intervals.

The liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine of the new BMW F 450 RR is mounted transversely. Unique in the motorcycle market, it features a crankshaft with crankpins offset by 135 degrees. This design, together with the newly developed premium under-belly muffler, gives the engine an especially emotional sound while keeping vibration levels exceptionally low for the rider. Rigorous lightweight measures also reduce the overall weight of the new BMW F 450 RR, including materials exceptional in this motorcycle class, such as magnesium covers for the clutch and transmission.

Counter-rotating balance shaft and wet-sump lubrication.

A counterweight shaft (balance shaft) positioned ahead of the crankshaft reduces unwanted vibration. It is driven by a spur gear. Together with the 135-degree crankpin offset, it ensures excellent refinement.

A wet-sump lubrication system with a chain-driven oil pump reliably supplies the engine with lubricating oil under all operating conditions.

Two overhead camshafts and four rocker-arm-actuated valves per cylinder.

Two overhead camshafts actuate four valves per cylinder via lightweight rocker arms designed for high engine speeds. On the right side of the engine, a toothed chain driven by the crankshaft operates the exhaust camshaft, which transfers power to the intake camshaft through a pair of gears.

The valve angles support a high-efficiency combustion chamber designed for optimum power and torque output. The angles are 12 degrees on the intake side and 12.4 degrees on the exhaust side. The valve diameters measure 29 mm on the intake side and 24.3 mm on the exhaust side. The compression ratio is 13:1.

The mixture is delivered by port fuel injection via the latest-generation BMS-Z engine management system. In the ride-by-wire system, a sensor at the throttle grip detects the rider's input and transmits it directly to the engine management system, which controls the throttle-valve opening angle for optimum modulation and direct response.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for a significant increase in riding pleasure and riding comfort.

The Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) is available as an option on the M Sport variant, providing greater riding enjoyment, control, and comfort—especially in urban stop-and-go traffic and on twisty roads. It enables a relaxed and intuitive riding experience without compromising the supersport character of the BMW F 450 RR.

In combination with the M Sport variant's standard BMW Shift Assistant Pro, manual operation of the clutch lever is no longer required. This is made possible by a precisely operating centrifugal unit in the clutch that engages according to engine speed. Unlike conventional systems, the advanced centrifugal clutch remains closed during overrun. This gives the motorcycle natural, familiar, and consistently predictable riding behavior. Engine braking remains effective until shortly before the motorcycle comes to a stop; only when idle speed is reached does the ERC open automatically, reliably preventing the engine from stalling.

Six-speed transmission with left-side secondary drive.

For optimum riding dynamics, the six-speed transmission transfers torque to the left-side secondary drive via an X-ring chain. For rapid upshifts and downshifts without operating the clutch, the new F 450 RR M Sport comes standard with Shift Assistant Pro. As a result, the F 450 RR changes gears very quickly while the clutch is rarely needed, reducing unwanted load changes and rear-wheel traction loss.

Shift Assistant Pro also significantly reduces rider and passenger movement during gear changes, making two-up riding even more comfortable.

Reversible shift pattern for an extra dose of sportiness and a true racing feel.

For an extra dose of sportiness, the standard first-gear-down shift pattern can be reversed to a first-gear-up "GP" shift pattern quickly and with minimal effort—ideal for racetrack use.

Premium stainless-steel under-belly exhaust system.

The stainless-steel under-belly exhaust system of the new BMW F 450 RR creates a distinctive visual accent with its striking design. Its weight-optimized construction contributes to the F 450 RR's low overall weight. The central position beneath the motorcycle also provides optimum cornering clearance and reduces the risk of contact—and therefore burns—for the passenger and luggage. At the same time, this muffler solution produces an especially distinctive sound.

ABS Pro, DBC, DTC, and MSR, plus the "Rain," "Road," and "Race" riding modes.

The standard "Rain," "Road," and "Race" riding modes allow the rider to tailor the new BMW F 450 RR to individual preferences. ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and engine drag torque control (MSR) are also standard. The riding modes are intelligently linked with the control systems to precisely adapt the F 450 RR to the relevant operating conditions.

"Rain" is designed for riding on wet roads. Throttle response is softer, and all control systems are configured for maximum stability and control of the motorcycle.

"Road" is intended for use on dry roads. Engine response is direct, while traction control is calibrated for a balanced combination of stability and riding dynamics. All other control systems are likewise set for high stability.

"Race" is designed for sporty riding on dry roads. Traction control, front-wheel lift detection, and engine drag torque control intervene less, enabling a more direct riding experience.

Riding Modes Pro is included with the M Sport variant. The additional "Race Pro" riding mode allows individual adjustment of throttle response, DTC, and ABS, enabling the control characteristics to be tailored specifically to the rider's personal style and the riding situation.

CHASSIS

The chassis provides precise feedback, enables agile turn-in, and delivers high stability—even on the track. To achieve this, the chassis geometry, rider ergonomics, and overall vehicle package were specifically tailored to the requirements of a supersport motorcycle.

Tubular steel space frame for optimum rigidity, robustness, and riding precision.

The new BMW F 450 RR uses a welded tubular steel space frame with integrated forged components. The parallel-twin engine is incorporated as a load-bearing element, contributing to the compact, rigid, and strong overall structure. For use as a supersport motorcycle, the chassis layout was specifically designed for precise turn-in, agile handling, and high stability on both road and track.

Geometry plays a leading role in the motorcycle's riding dynamics: the wheelbase is 55.3 inches, the steering-head angle is 23.4 degrees, and the trail is 4.3 inches. The supersport-specific tuning supports precise turn-in and high riding stability. The compact packaging also facilitates access to key components.

Front upside-down telescopic fork and rear wheel control via an aluminum hollow-cast double-sided swingarm with a central spring strut.

At the front, a torsionally rigid, gold-anodized KYB upside-down telescopic fork with 43 mm inner tubes controls the wheel. Suspension travel is 5.5 inches. The triple clamp is made of forged aluminum and features elegantly designed cutouts for weight reduction. The M Sport variant's standard Sport suspension adds adjustable rebound and compression damping at the front.

At the rear, a lightweight, torsionally rigid hollow-cast aluminum double-sided swingarm guides the wheel in conjunction with a directly mounted KYB central spring strut. Spring preload and rebound damping can be adjusted to suit the load and riding style.

17-inch wheels and tires designed for dynamic riding.

Lightweight cast-aluminum wheels with hollow spokes help reduce overall weight. Tires measuring 110/70-17 at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear are lightweight and were selected to deliver a well-balanced combination of grip, rapid warm-up, and durability on both road and track.

Powerful braking system combined with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro for safe braking.

At the front wheel of the new BMW F 450 RR, a floating single-disc brake with a Brembo four-piston monobloc fixed caliper and a 310 mm brake disc provides confident and efficient deceleration. At the rear, a single-disc brake with a floating ByBre single-piston caliper and a 240 mm disc is used.

The new BMW F 450 RR comes standard with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro. The system enables ABS-assisted braking when leaned over, increasing safety in corners. Even when the brakes are applied rapidly, ABS Pro prevents the wheels from locking. During emergency braking, it reduces abrupt changes in steering force and therefore the motorcycle's unwanted tendency to stand up. This helps the motorcycle remain as stable as possible in corners while delivering optimum deceleration. Depending on the selected riding mode, ABS Pro and engine drag torque control (MSR) adapt their control characteristics to the relevant braking maneuver.

Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) increases safety during braking in challenging situations by preventing unintended throttle application. If the sensor box detects a certain deceleration level during braking, the system interprets a simultaneous acceleration request from the rider as implausible and prevents the throttle valves from opening. This keeps the motorcycle stable and shortens the braking distance.

Ed Bargy, AHRMA's longtime National Starter and flagger, officially retired from the role this past weekend after waving the green flag for the final race of the final day of the 21st Annual Barber Vintage Festival at Barber Motorsports Park.

Bargy, who has been a fixture at AHRMA road race events for years, brought decades of experience, precision, and a deep commitment to safety to every start. His presence on the grid—calm, authoritative, and focused—helped ensure clean, safe launches for competitors across the full spectrum of AHRMA classes, from pure vintage machines to modern Sound of Thunder and Formula bikes.

Bargy has been involved in nearly every aspect of motorsports since he was introduced to racing at a 5/8-mile oval by his brother-in-law in 1955. He earned his first trophy at age 11 racing hydroplane boats. While stationed in England in the early 1960s, he was introduced to motorcycle road racing and set up a street-based training course for airmen. A winning motorcycle racer (including regional and national championships with WERA, CMA, and various amateur clubs), he also helped establish WERA. He is the founder and operator of the Ed Bargy Motorcycle Racing School, widely regarded as one of the oldest and most comprehensive advanced riding schools in the country. His résumé further includes work as a Senior National Race Director and National Starter with WERA, race announcer, safety crew member and trainer, track designer (once called "the King of Track Layout" by WERA), and safety consultant for both WERA and AHRMA. He has authored books on racing technique and track design and has coached riders since 1968.

Among his lasting contributions to race safety, Bargy was the first to require the red flag at all corner stations (rather than only at the start/finish line), established the requirement for two ALS ambulances (instead of a single BLS unit) as the standard for road-race events, and created standardized motorcycle corner-worker procedures distinct from the auto-racing standards then in use. In 2022, AHRMA formally named him its Official Starter and partnered with him on advanced riding workshops at selected events.

While Bargy is stepping away from flagging duties with AHRMA, he continues to operate his racing school and remains active in the broader motorsports community.

"It's been an honor to work with the AHRMA racers and crew all these years," said Bargy. "The starts are the most critical moment of any race, and I've always tried to do it right—for the safety of the riders and the quality of the racing. AHRMA has a special atmosphere, and I'm proud to have been part of it. I'll miss the flag, but it's time."

Leasha Overturf, AHRMA Road Race Director, added: "As I transitioned from racer to Road Race Director, Ed Bargy was tremendously helpful. He was not only a mentor, but also a cornerstone of our race program, bringing safety, professionalism, and consistency to every start. His guidance, support, and teamwork have been invaluable throughout the years.

I always knew the day would come when he would retire, but that didn't make the announcement any easier to hear. I am deeply grateful for everything Ed has contributed to our sport and our organization. His presence, leadership, and steady hand will be greatly missed on the grid."

Greg "GT" Tomlinson, Chairman of the AHRMA Board of Trustees, said: "Ed Bargy has been a fixture of AHRMA since its inception, and while he may be retiring as our official flagger, he'll always be so much more than our starter. Ed is an inspiration, and his knowledge, professionalism, and presence in our road race paddock are part of AHRMA's institutional fabric.

As a racer, if you've ever had the good fortune of starting a race with Ed, you know exactly what I mean. After Ed, every other starter seems second rate! When he leaned in on the "two board" from the start tower, you could feel his intensity, as if he were racing right alongside you. I know it sure ramped up my own intensity, and my bike's revs!

As Chairman, working with Ed has been an absolute delight. His decades of experience brought a steadfast professionalism to our entire Road Race team, and his sage-like advice has been invaluable. We'll miss that wisdom, but more than anything, we'll miss having Ed right there with us.

I was proud to be on hand for his final throw of the checkered flag. It was a special moment, and one I won't forget. Ed, I'm grateful for the opportunity to have raced with you, worked alongside you, and called you a friend. I'm humbled to have been part of your journey and to have started and worked with the best. Thank you for everything you've given AHRMA, Ed. You've left an indelible mark on this club, and you'll always have a place in our paddock."

AHRMA thanks Ed for his many contributions and looks forward to seeing him at future events in a different capacity.

The 2027 calendar launching a new era of the British Superbike Championship has been announced today (Thursday 15 October).

The much-anticipated new season will feature the introduction of the new "Next Generation" technical platform, designed to deliver closer competition, greater manufacturer diversity and improved cost control while maintaining BSB's position as the world's leading domestic motorcycle racing championship.

The Championship will kick off the 11-round title battle at Oulton Park on the May Bank Holiday weekend. This will be followed by the first of two visits to Donington Park at the end of the month.

The annual visit to Knockhill remains in June for round three, before the summer season with visits to Snetterton and Brands Hatch in July, before the title chase ramps up with a return to Oulton Park. The month of August continues with another Thruxton thriller before the return to Cadwell Park for the fan favourite 'Party in the Park'.

The Championship intensifies with the Showdown kicking off at the TT Circuit Assen in September before returning to Donington Park for the penultimate round. Brands Hatch then is the stage for the title decider, maintaining a long-standing tradition.

There will be two official tests prior to the start of the 2027 season, with the first taking place in March at Donington Park, before moving to Oulton Park ahead of the opening round.

The FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship heads to Jerez from 16-18 October for the final round of the 2026 season. After a dominant campaign, Maria Herrera arrives in Spain with the opportunity to secure the WorldWCR title in Race 1.

Recent Form and Momentum

  • Maria Herrera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR) has won six of the season's ten races and finished on the podium in every race.

  • Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) has taken two wins at Assen and Donington Park. Their rivalry peaked at Donington, where they collided on the opening lap of Race 1. Herrera recovered to win despite two Long Lap Penalties, while Neila retired, ending her 22-race podium streak. Neila then inherited the Race 2 victory after a penalty dropped Herrera to second.

  • Klint Racing Team teammates Roberta Ponziani and Paola Ramos have been battling for third in the standings. Both have scored podium finishes this season, but Ramos's campaign was disrupted by a heavy crash in Race 1 at Assen that left her with a foot injury, forcing her to miss Race 2.

  • Muklada Sarapuech (Yamaha AD78 FIMLA by EEST NJT Racing) has scored podiums at Misano and Donington. Lucie Boudesseul (GMT94 Yamaha) and Chloe Jones (Monster Energy Crescent Yamaha) have also reached the podium.

Championship Standings

  • Herrera leads with 226 points, 44 ahead of Neila, and can secure the title in Race 1 at Jerez.

  • Neila remains mathematically in contention with 50 points available, but has already secured second place, holding a 64-point advantage over Ponziani.

  • Ponziani leads the fight for third by just one point over Ramos. Sarapuech is also in contention, 18 points behind Ramos.

Title Permutations

  • Maria Herrera will be crowned the 2026 WorldWCR Champion after Race 1 at Jerez if any of the following scenarios occur:
    • Herrera finishes in the top 10, regardless of Beatriz Neila's result.
    • Herrera finishes 11th to 15th and Neila does not win the race.
    • Neila finishes third or lower, regardless of Herrera's result.

Back in WorldWCR

  • Avalon Lewis makes her first WorldWCR appearance of 2026 after injury ruled her out of the season. She finished eighth in the 2025 Championship.

  • Sara Varon returns as a wildcard after competing in the inaugural 2024 season and making a replacement appearance in 2025.
    Historical Performance
  • Maria Herrera, Sara Sanchez and Paola Ramos have all won at Jerez. Ramos claimed her first WorldWCR victory at the circuit in Race 2 in 2025.

  • Beatriz Neila has finished on the podium in all four races at Jerez but is yet to win there.
  • Race 1: Maria Herrera, Chloe Jones, Beatriz Neila
Race 2: Paola Ramos, Beatriz Neila, Lucie Boudesseul

The 21st Annual Barber Vintage Festival wrapped up at Barber Motorsports Park. A rainy Saturday affected the road racing action, but weather cleared beautifully for Sunday, October 11, 2026, setting the stage for the highly anticipated Open 2-Stroke Money Race under blue skies. AHRMA officials shifted the headline shootout to Sunday from Saturday due to wet conditions, giving a fierce field of 14 entries a dry track.

Organized with the generous support of Rising Sun Cycles, Mojo Racing, 4 Anonymous, San Diego Sash Company, and TZ Mike Studzinski, the race put screaming 125cc lightweight Grand Prix bikes, agile 250cc twin-cylinders, and fire-breathing 500cc-plus monsters on the same tarmac fighting for a $4,700 cash purse. Bridgestone Tires also contributed a fresh set of race tires exclusively for the overall winner.

The race quickly turned into a two-rider duel as Ralph Staropoli on a Honda RS250 and Oliver Hutchinson on a Yamaha TZ250 pulled away. Staropoli put on a charging performance, leading the first four laps. On the 5th lap, Hutchinson made a competitive pass going into the iconic Museum Turn to snatch the lead.

The battle went down to the wire. The two went tire-to-tire down the front straightaway into turn one on the final lap. Deep in the draft air, Staropoli got caught and went wide, giving Hutchinson an opening. Coming into Charlotte's Web, Hutchinson ran wide too, but Staropoli couldn't close the gap. Hutchinson held his advantage to win by 20 bike lengths, with Staropoli crossing behind him in a well-fought second place.

The successful transition from a soggy Saturday grid to a blistering, dry Sunday showdown ensured that the 21st edition of the Barber Vintage Festival concluded on the highest possible note, keeping the spirit of classic Grand Prix motorcycle racing fast, loud, and alive.

"Another successful open two-stroke race for 2026. I would like to give a big thanks to all the sponsors who contributed to the purse for this race. I would also like to thank all the riders for coming out to participate. Looking forward to next year to continue the tradition and increase the purse for the race and the number of riders," said Ralph Staropoli, coordinator of AHRMA's 2026 Open 2-Stroke purse race.

The Vintage Cup series reached its 2026 race season conclusion at the Barber Vintage Festival, Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL, October 10-11 as part of the 2026 AHRMA National Roadracing Series presented by VIB-ISO.

Sponsored by RoadracingWorld.com and NYC Norton (nycnorton.com), AHRMA's 2026 Vintage Cup features the 250 Grand Prix class: any fully GP-kitted 250cc OHV/OHC four-stroke; 250cc air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke; 175cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke; or 175cc air-cooled twin-cylinder two-stroke built before December 31, 1968. It is a showdown of classic small-displacement racing that lives on corner speed, momentum, and precise engineering—and it rarely fails to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Typical 250GP grids mix machines such as Aermacchi, Bultaco, Greeves, Montesa, Ducati, NSU, Ossa, and more.

Hurricane Isaiah bore down on Birmingham and Barber Motorsports Park early Saturday morning and continued throughout the race day, drowning a lot of the potential fast laps in our 250GP., and all the day's racing. But long before the afternoon's featured Vintage Cup race, the drama had begun early in the day. The morning's Formula 125 race, in which several 250 GP riders campaigned, had many riders come back with issues. Craig Hirko (1967 Bridgestone TA1) chased F125 class leader Holly Varey (1968 VanTech CS3) as he still had a chance to win the F125 championship. On the last lap, Hirko made a big effort to pass Varey, but crashed. Seconds later, Varey crashed. Neither was hurt, but Hirko's bike suffered considerable damage. Once back in the pits a mad scramble ensued to get Hirko's bike ready for the afternoon's 250GP big show. Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson (1968 Yamaha YCS1) had a motor failure in this early race, and he too went to work to make the afternoon show, installing a spare motor. Sadly, Johnson ran out of time and didn't make the start of the 250GP. Hirko's team managed to get his bike back together and through tech in the nick of time, albeit with the clutch dragging.

As the green flag dropped for our afternoon's 250GP Vintage Cup race, Hirko's dragging clutch caused him to stall on the grid and forced him to pull off. Erik Green crashed on the first lap bringing out the red flag, which gave Hirko another chance for a clean start. On the restart Rob Hall (1965 Honda CB160) jumped into the lead followed by Jonas Stein (1972 Honda CB175), Trevor Scales (1969 Honda CB160) and Tim Terrell (1966 Honda CB160), all on Honda twins. Hirko was fifth on his Bridgestone. Having already secured the championship, he was cautious to nurse his bike around and gather a few points to add to his total. Of the impressive 25 entries for the season-ending Barber Vintage Cup 250GP race, only 9 started on Saturday in the pouring rain.

Sunday was a totally different situation. With the su250 n out and the track now dry, there were 18 starters. Hall again jumped into the lead, but on the second lap, his bike broke. Johnson inherited the lead on his Yamaha and held it to the end. Jack Kainz (1972 Yamaha CS3) ran third also on a Yamaha twin until Paul Germain (1967 Yamaha DTIRR) charged past on his Yamaha single. The two of them exchanged second place several times, with Kainz ultimately prevailing over Germain after Stein dropped out. Varey was fourth, Hirko fifth, and Scales sixth.

So, the four-strokes prevailed in the wet on Saturday, and the two-strokes dominated in the dry on Sunday.

2026 was a hugely successful Vintage Cup with 7 different winners in the 22 races, on 6 different brands of bikes, 15 of them two-strokes, 5 four-strokes, 14 of them twins, and 6 of them singles, despite the weather.

"As a sponsor and fan, I am so pleased to close out the 2026 Vintage Cup at the Barber Vintage Festival the way we did. Saturday's rain from Hurricane Isaiah thinned the grid, but the riders who went out still put on a proper show of small-displacement racing—corner speed, momentum, and pure determination. Watching four-strokes take it in the wet and then the two-strokes answer in the dry on Sunday was exactly the kind of variety this class delivers.

We've had so many different riders on the podium this year, so many different bikes up front, with a great mix of twins and singles, two-strokes and four-strokes. I can honestly say this has been the most dynamic Vintage Cup we've ever had. A special thanks to everyone who helped keep machines running through the weather, and to the racers who turned up for the finale. A big shout out to all the year's riders, owners and mechanics.  And much appreciation to the AHRMA staff that offer up the latitude to put on this special race class and make sure we nurture these special classics each year. And also big ups to the supporters who chipped in for the Top 5 Purse payout this weekend - this goes a long way for a team's morale; getting a little back for the thousands they put in each year.  When I sat in the announcer's booth on Sunday and that Alabama sun started shining I knew we would go out with style…. And we did!  We're pushing hard to get the healthy grids in place for next year's Formula 750 class. Tune em up, folks. As a wise racer once said, "It's gonna be Hot and Hazy… Fast and Crazy!"" said series sponsor Kenny Cummings of NYC Norton.

AHRMA first launched the Vintage Cup series in 2019 by spotlighting the 350GP class. The series resumed in 2021 and highlighted the 500 Premier class, followed by Vintage Superbike Heavyweight in 2022 and Formula 750 in 2023. In 2024 the second rotation of featured classes began with 350GP, then 500 Premier in 2025. 250GP was added in 2026—the first year it has been featured.

"The final weekend of the 250GP Vintage Cup at Barber gave us everything. Rain cut the Saturday grid, then a red-flag restart and clutch issues still produced a race, with Rob Hall leading a pack of Honda twins. Sunday's dry track flipped the script completely—Dustin Johnson took the win on his Yamaha after Hall's machine failed, and the battles for second and third stayed tight all the way.

What stands out most is the season as a whole: seven different winners, a healthy mix of machines, and racing that never got boring. Featuring the 250GP class for the first time in the Vintage Cup rotation brought some of the most diverse and exciting grids we've had. The camaraderie in the pits, the willingness to push through weather, and the way riders supported each other all weekend is what AHRMA is about. Looking ahead to Formula 750 in 2027, I know the excitement will continue," said Leasha Overturf, AHRMA's Road Race Director.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the AHRMA National Road Race Series will resume mid-February 2027 at Roebling Road Raceway, in Bloomingdale, GA. The 2027 Vintage Cup featured class is Formula 750.

The annual Vintage Cup spotlights one of AHRMA's road racing classes with extra attention on competitors in the selected class at each race event. Enhanced awards for Vintage Cup competitors are presented separately from other class trophies during the Saturday awards ceremony at each AHRMA National Road Race event. Highlights from each Vintage Cup race are reported in RoadracingWorld.com's online edition. At the end of the season, the perpetual Vintage Cup trophy is engraved with the national champion's name and presented at the National Awards Banquet to keep for one year.

14-Oct-26

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - Dunlop Motorcycle Tires congratulates the 2026 MotoAmerica champions following a dramatic season finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park. From new lap records on Sportmax Slick tires to a championship showdown in demanding wet conditions, the season showcased the riders, teams and tire support behind American road racing.

As MotoAmerica's official tire supplier, Dunlop continued its commitment to the series with race tires and trackside service supporting competitors throughout the season. The Sportmax Slick remained central to that effort, helping riders deliver record-setting speed in dry conditions, while Dunlop's Sportmax Rain tires supported the field when the weather changed.

Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing's Bobby Fong completed his championship campaign with a determined performance at the September 25-27 finale. Arriving 26 points behind Sean Dylan Kelly, Fong won both Saturday Superbike races to cut the deficit to two points. Fourth place in Sunday's wet final race secured his first Quad Lock Superbike Championship, finishing the season with 316 points to Kelly's 305. Mathew Scholtz won the final race for Strack Racing.

"Congratulations to Bobby Fong and every one of this year's MotoAmerica champions," said Chad Geer Director, Motorcycle Products & Motorsports. "A championship reflects a full season of preparation, commitment and execution. We're proud that Dunlop is part of that effort, from the performance of our Sportmax Slick tires to the people supporting riders at the track. The lap records set this year give our team even more motivation to keep developing and improving."

Dunlop Sportmax Slick tires helped riders rewrite the record books throughout 2026. At multiple races and in varying classes, Dunlop Sportmax Slick tires broke countless lap records.

Behind those results, Dunlop's trackside crew provided tire mounting, setup guidance and support as teams worked through changing conditions. The wet New Jersey finale put that preparation into focus, with Dunlop Sportmax Rain tires playing a key role in the season's closing races.

"Our crew works closely with the riders and teams all season, and we take pride in being ready when they need us," said Cori Maynard, Coordinator of Motorsports Logistics. "A weekend like New Jersey asks a lot of everyone in the paddock. Seeing the season come together and watching these riders celebrate their championships makes the work worthwhile. Congratulations to the champions, and thank you to every team and every member of our Dunlop crew."

Congratulations to the 2026 MotoAmerica Champions:

• Quad Lock Superbike: Bobby Fong, Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing

• Supersport: Darryn Binder, Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse Ducati

• Superbike Cup: Andrew Lee, Real Steel Honda

• Twins Cup: Hank Vossberg, Robem Engineering

• Mission King Of The Baggers: Hayden Gillim, J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian

• Mission Super Hooligan: Bryce Kornbau, BPR Racing Yamaha

• Talent Cup: Nathan Gouker, Quarterley Racing

• Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race.: Jasmine Noelle

Darryn Binder secured the Supersport crown in his debut MotoAmerica season and closed the year with a Sunday victory at New Jersey. Nathan Gouker claimed the Talent Cup title with Quarterley Racing, while Gillim, Kornbau, Lee and Noelle completed championship campaigns secured before the final weekend.

For Dunlop, the Twins Cup title carried added significance: Team Dunlop Elite Road Race alumnus Hank Vossberg clinched the championship with Robem Engineering during a weekend sweep at VIR. His progression from the Team Dunlop Elite program to a MotoAmerica championship reflects Dunlop's commitment to supporting young racers as they advance through the sport.

Dunlop thanks MotoAmerica, the riders, teams and fans for another memorable season and congratulates every champion on earning the number-one plate.

Perfect end of the season in Portugal for Chris Clark as he romps to victory in style.

Chris Clark signed off from his front running season in the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup with victory in the final round of series at Estoril in Portugal.

The win, his second of the season, secured a top five finish in the overall standings, putting Chris on the shopping list for several teams keen to secure his services for the 2027 season.

The weekend started well for Chris who once again showed pace in Free Practice. Running alone in Superpole he secured a fourth-row grid spot for the opening encounter which he converted to a seventh-place finish at the flag after an intense race saw him miss the win by a mere four tenths of a second.

Starting second, courtesy of his lap time in Race One, the #5 wasted no time in hitting the front on Sunday, controlling things with a race long performance that saw him break the group on the final lap to take the win.

He now heads back to the USA before returning to the UK to take part in Full Throttle LIVE - a new superbike themed theatre show in the UK.

An announcement regarding Chris's 2027 plans will be made in due course.

Chris Clark: "I fought hard in race one. Starting eleventh I battled from start to finish and got into the lead quite early which was good for to me able to strategize for the final laps. I ran a slightly taller gearing which I think was the wrong call but overall, I cannot be unhappy. On the last lap I was a bit further back than I wanted to be and wasn't able to finish on the podium, but we made some changes for Sunday, and I was confident for the final race of the season. It was the perfect way to end the season. I started second and was able to run at the front. Mid way I was feeling really good, and it all came down to me to execute the plan. It went perfectly and I am so happy to end the year with a win. I want to thank everyone at Smrz Racing, from Kuba, to everyone who has been involved with the team. I want to thank my family, especially my mom, and all my personal sponsors, TJ at KYT, Tosha and Rob at Bison Leathers, Gordon, and everyone at Pole Position travel. I want to thank Kathrin for all her hard work and my manager Michael for being there on and off track, and to everyone who supports me - thank you. For next year I am not sure yet of where I will be. I have some options and for sure I want to stay in the World Superbike paddock so I guess all I can say for now is watch this space. Finally, thanks to Yamaha and BLU CRU for the opportunity this year, to all the staff at World Superbike and to all the fans. See you in 2027!"
