Full House: The Full List Of 2027 MotoGP Rider Contract Announcements

The 2027 MotoGP rider line up is complete at last. With today's (October 20th) announcement that Diogo Moreira will be getting the seat in the factory Honda team, with David Alonso heading to LCR, that finalizes the 2027 grid.

Official At Last: David Alonso To LCR, Diogo Moreira To Honda HRC Factory Team

Diogo Moreira has won the battle for promotion to the factory Honda team. In press statements today, Honda announced that it would be Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira who gets the seat in the factory team, while rookie David Alonso will take Moreira's seat in the LCR Honda squad.

The decision comes after a disappointing season for Alonso in Moto2, and a strong rookie year for Moreira in MotoGP. When Honda announced they had signed Alonso, the press release did not state which team he would be racing in, but sources indicated that Alonso's deal was to race in the factory Honda team. As the season progressed, however, and Alonso struggled, HRC pushed to move Moreira into the factory team and have Alonso start life in the satellite LCR Honda squad.

New AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Exhibit Tells the Story of Harley-Davidson's Triumphant Comeback

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story" explores the shared leadership and teamwork behind the company's turnaround and invites the Harley-Davidson community to help bring the story to life in new exhibit.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — A new exhibit at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, explores the people, culture, and shared leadership behind Harley-Davidson's remarkable revival in the 1980s and 1990s.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story," features the work and contributions of former Harley-Davidson CEO and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Richard Teerlink and chronicles the company's journey from near-bankruptcy in the 1980s to massive market success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The exhibit examines how Harley-Davidson moved away from a traditional hierarchical management model and embraced trust, employee participation, shared responsibility and collective ownership. The company's turnaround helped shape the global motorcycling industry, and its approach to leadership has offered lessons in the power of working together that extend beyond motorcycling, including in university business programs.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story," opened with a ribbon cutting and public celebration on Oct. 17 during the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame's Fall Bike Night.

The exhibit's opening also launched the "We Did It Together" Mural Campaign , giving the Harley-Davidson community a chance to become part of the exhibit's completed mural, which opens next year.

"We're grateful to Ann Teerlink, Jeff Westphal and everyone who helped bring 'We Did It Together' to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and excited to share this story with the Harley-Davidson community and motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "Harley-Davidson's history is deeply connected to the people who built, rode and supported the brand, and this exhibit gives us an opportunity to celebrate those people while preserving an important part of motorcycle history."

The exhibit features a timeline with historic photographs and key company milestones from 1980 through 2005, along with a one-of-a-kind collection of Teerlink's four Anniversary Electra Glide motorcycles, presented to him for Harley-Davidson's 85th, 90th, 95th and 100th anniversary celebrations.

"We Did It Together" was created by a group of family, friends and former Harley-Davidson executives who helped bring this leadership story to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

"Rich taught me that mutually beneficial relationships are what matters most," said Jeff Westphal, a longtime friend and mentee of Teerlink who helped bring the exhibit to life. "I'm proud to help bring his story to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and excited to celebrate Rich, Harley-Davidson and the culture of meaning, trust and support he helped create."

Become part of the "We Did It Together" exhibit

Members of the Harley-Davidson community are invited to become part of the permanent exhibit.

Community members can submit photographs of themselves, family members or loved ones whose lives were connected to the brand — from factory employees and H.O.G. riders to dealership team members, rally attendees, veterans and lifelong enthusiasts.

With a donation to the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation (AMHF), selected photographs will become part of a permanent mural featured in the exhibit. Photos and donations can be submitted through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame's "We Did It Together" exhibit page.

Campaign photo submissions will be accepted through July 31, 2027. The completed mural is scheduled to be unveiled Oct. 12, 2027.

"We Did It Together: A Harley-Davidson Leadership Story" is on display at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, 13515 Yarmouth Dr., Pickerington, Ohio.

B2B News | THE PACK, the independent electric motorcycle and light electric vehicle (LEV) media platform, is expanding its global reach with the upcoming launch of THE PACK UK. The new dedicated UK division will be led by editor and publisher James Billington, who takes responsibility for editorial output in the UK and for all client contacts in the British market.

THE PACK UK Launch - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News A dedicated UK platform

Scheduled to launch this month, THE PACK UK will be a dedicated destination for electric motorcycles, scooters and light electric vehicles, bringing together the latest products, technology and industry developments with a clear focus on the British market. The site will combine new model coverage, test rides and reviews, brand and business news, interviews, features and wider analysis of the rapidly evolving e-mobility sector.

With its own UK-based team, THE PACK UK will build direct relationships with manufacturers, importers, dealers and PR agencies, giving the site close access to the companies and people shaping the market. The aim is to provide both riders and the industry with a focused, authoritative source of UK electric motorcycle and LEV news, while giving the brands operating in this growing sector a dedicated platform on which to tell their stories and reach a wider audience.

"Having covered electric vehicles for nearly two decades, I've seen the industry evolve enormously, but the pace of change in the electric motorcycle and wider two-wheeled e-mobility sectors has been incredible in recent years. Therefore, launching THE PACK UK is an exciting opportunity to give this fast-moving sector greater visibility, and to showcase the brands, technology and innovation driving its progress and shaping its future in the UK. I'm looking forward to building THE PACK UK into the go-to source for electric motorcycles and LEVs in Britain, and to working directly with the brands, importers and dealers at the forefront of this growing market," says James Billington, leader of THE PACK UK.

Part of a growing European network

THE PACK has operated since 2017 as a division of Salens Communicatie NV, founded by Guy Salens. The UK launch follows THE PACK Italia and SteckerBiker / THE PACK News in Germany, and is part of a network of independent regional teams operating under a common license. Each division runs its own editorial agenda and publishes in its own language, while articles can be shared and translated across the network with a link back to the original source. This gives brands local coverage in each market, combined with reach across Europe.

Commercial partnerships

Brands and agencies active in the UK can work with THE PACK UK through the MediaPack, which includes [e.g. sponsored articles, video, social campaigns, newsletter placement]. James Billington, an award-winning automotive and electric vehicle journalist, is the single point of contact for all UK partnerships.

Belgium Auto Show - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

"Today THE PACK is not a blog. It is an independent media platform, a European launch partner for electric motorcycle brands, and a growing network of local voices in Germany, Italy, and now also in the UK. But it still starts from the same place it always did: genuine curiosity about where this industry is going. With James Billington leading THE PACK UK, British riders and brands get exactly that, backed by a network that now spans several European countries," says Guy Salens, founder of THE PACK.

About THE PACK

THE PACK started in 2017 as a personal curiosity, one motorcycle enthusiast wondering what two wheels would look like in an electric future. Nearly a decade later, it has grown into one of Europe's leading independent platforms for electric motorcycles and mopeds, with a global network of local teams in Italy, Germany and now also in the UK, over 1,800 published articles, and a community that spans riders, startups, manufacturers, and industry insiders across the globe.

FIM Court Upholds Leopard Racing Appeal, But This Is Not A Complete Exoneration

A bombshell dropped on the Friday of the Hungarian round of MotoGP at Balaton Park. The FIM Stewards announced that irregularities had been found during the technical inspection of the engines used by Leopard Racing Moto3 rider Adrian Fernandez in the first six rounds of the season. The seals used to ensure that teams do not touch the engine internals had shown signs of tampering, and after further inspection by experts from both IRTA and Honda showed signs the engine had been stripped and reassembled.

That is a clear breach of the regulations (Article 2.6.3.3), which state that engines must remain sealed and that any parts behind seals may not be replaced or refreshed. As a result, Fernandez was disqualified from the first six rounds of Moto3, where he had used the two engines which had shown signs of tampering. Instead of the 77 points he scored in those first six rounds, he had zero, and so he dropped from third in the championship to 20th.

OPINION: Should MotoGP Go To Qatar?

Should MotoGP travel to the Lusail International Circuit for the Qatar GP? My answer to this is the same as every other year: of course not. Qatar is an authoritarian autocracy with an appalling human rights record, using MotoGP for the purpose of sportswashing its horrendous abuses of migrant workers and non-citizens. It operates the Kafala system, a system akin to indentured servitude, which allows for physical, sexual, and psychological abuse of foreign workers, with exploitation and wage theft rife. There are plenty of questionable places where MotoGP races but probably shouldn't, but Qatar is arguably the worst.

But that wasn't why the question was being asked, of course. When fans ask "should MotoGP race in Qatar" what they mean is "should MotoGP race in Qatar, given the current political situation in the Persian Gulf?" Leaving aside the rampant human rights abuses, the question is really, is it safe to race in Qatar?

The answer to that depends on who you listen to. At Mandalika, MotoGP Group Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta told reporters that as it stands, Qatar would be going ahead as planned. "We're planning towards going to Qatar, but obviously the safety and well-being of all staff and fans is the number one priority, so we'll continue to closely monitor the situation," he said.

Ezpeleta acknowledged that the situation was still fluid. "There could always be unforeseen circumstances, so again, I think we have to work together with the teams and the promoter to make sure that everything is safe and that there's also contingency plans."

A lack of enthusiasm

Taking no time away from racing since wrapping up the 2026 MotoAmerica Talent Cup season, Team Roberts rider Kensei Matsudaira made his Supersport 600 debut in South Korea this weekend in the All Korea Road Race Championship (AKRC) at the Korea International Circuit. As part of the Korea World Bike Festival being held during the same race weekend at the former Formula 1 venue, Kensei also joined the FIM Ohvale GP-7 Asia  Challenge representing the US from FIM North America.

Piloting a Honda CBR600RR for the first time, Kensei quickly adapted to the bike and track, earning pole position for the SS600 race on Sunday.

On board the Ohvale GP-7 also for the first time, Kensei qualified on pole position while setting a new circuit lap record for the category with a lap time of 1:24.738.

In the first GP-7 Asia Challenge race on Sunday, Kensei fought in a 3-rider lead group and took the win in the 8-lap race.

In the second GP-7 Asia Challenge race, Kensei and another rider broke away from the rest of the riders and battled to the finish with Kensei crossing the line in P2, just 0.08 seconds behing the winner despite struggling with bike issues during the race. The second race being worth double points, Kensei finished 2nd overall in the first international Ohvale GP-7 championship.

The sole SS600 race of the weekend saw Kensei break away from the start, leading from start to finish and winning in dominant fashion with a gap of over 15 seconds to second place.

Kensei Matsudaira: "It was amazing to be able to race in Korea, one of my home countries, and take some wins today. The KIMA Racing Honda CBR600RR was great to ride, it was set up perfectly and I was able to get up to speed quickly. Due to the weather I couldn't push for a lap record but I know I will be able to take what I learned this weekend on this bike and apply it to my next race in Japan. A huge thank you to FOMS, KMG, KIMA Racing for their support, I had a great time. I can't wait to come back and race here again!"

Arney Wick, Team Roberts Co-Principal: "All I could add would be another job well done for Kensei, and we look forward to physically participating in the next upcoming round at Suzuka, Japan!"

Kensei and Team Roberts now make their way to Japan as Kensei prepares to make his All Japan Road Race Championship (JRR) debut on board a Honda CBR600RR in the highly competitive Stock 600 category in the 58th MFJ Grand Prix Superbike Race at Suzuka Circuit, held from October 24th-25th, 2026.

Daytona Beach, FL. — The American Superbike Racing Association (ASRA) today announced that Cole Varnes of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, has been selected as the recipient of the ASRA Rising Stars Award. The honor recognizes the 15-year-old racer's outstanding competitive performances in the ASRA series combined with the professionalism, focus, and character he has demonstrated away from the racetrack. As part of the award, ASRA will cover entry fees for any ASRA races Varnes wishes to enter during the 2027 season.

Varnes has quickly established himself as one of the top young talents in ASRA competition. Competing primarily in the Atlantic Region, he currently leads championship standings in multiple classes, including Lightweight GP Expert, GTL, Thunderbike, Lightweight Superbike, and the Overall Championship. His results come while racing against experienced club-level competitors on the East Coast. Earlier in his development he also posted strong results in flat track, including a District 6 Flat Track Championship in the 250 Class.

Beyond the stopwatch, ASRA officials and team members have noted Varnes' maturity for his age. A sophomore at Exeter High School, he balances school responsibilities with a demanding race schedule while remaining a positive presence in the paddock. His family-supported effort—led in large part by his father, Mike Varnes—has been central to his progress from mini racing and flat track into competitive road racing. Sponsors and team partners, including Karns Performance, have repeatedly highlighted his work ethic, coachability, and respectful attitude.

"Cole represents exactly the kind of rider we want to recognize with the Rising Stars Award," said ASRA partner Scott Gilbert. "His speed on the track is obvious, but what sets him apart is how he carries himself off the bike—as a student, a teammate, and a young professional who takes the sport seriously. We're excited to support him as he continues to develop in 2027."

The entry-fee coverage gives Varnes the flexibility to race as much of the 2027 ASRA schedule as he chooses while continuing his progression academically. With his current form and rapid development.

Varnes has used the ASRA series as a key development platform while advancing toward professional competition. He recently made his MotoAmerica Twins Cup debut and continues to work toward further opportunities. The Rising Stars Award acknowledges both his current results and his potential as a future leader in American road racing.

Ryde completes the #BSBthreepeat to make Championship history.

Kyle Ryde has made British Superbike Championship history by becoming the first rider in the 30-years of the series to win consecutive titles for two different manufacturers by successfully defending his title at Brands Hatch in the season finale.

The Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider also fittingly became the first rider to complete three in a row, since Niall Mackenzie accomplished the feat when the Championship began in 1996 through to 1998.

Ryde had successfully delivered two title victories with Yamaha in 2023 and 2024, before the defending champion lined up on the Ducati V4 R this season. The reigning champion got his title defence off to the best possible start with a treble win at the Oulton Park season opener, and his impressive momentum continued as he celebrated 16 race wins and a further 12 podiums to carry a 53-point lead into the season finale at Brands Hatch.

His advantage could have been more, had it not been for a component failure at the penultimate round of the season at Donington Park, when he was forced to retire out of the battle in race three, to end his impressive streak of 89 races without a DNF.

In the opening race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, Ryde finished second to his title rival Scott Redding, with the advantage reduced to 48 points ahead of the final raceday of the season. In race two, Ryde finished third as Redding took victory, but it was enough to write championship history with one race of the season remaining, to complete the historic #BSBthreepeat with 16 wins and 15 podiums from the 33 races.

  • Race 2

In the penultimate race of the season, Redding fought to the finish in the BSB title fight in race. The Hager PBM Racing Team rider battled with title rival Ryde for the victory, but ultimately despite taking the win, the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing team celebrated their title defence.

Redding launched off the line into the lead from Ryde and Ryan Vickers, but the defending champion was attacking, despite only needing to finish inside the top five to secure his record-breaking third title. He grabbed the lead at Paddock Hill Bend on lap two, with Redding instantly pushing to retaliate at Druids.

Redding was piling on the pressure, before making another move back on Ryde at Surtees with a decisive pass down the inside. Ryde then reclaimed the lead at Hawthorns at half race distance.

Ryde was holding off Redding but then he again went for a move with a bullish pass at Stirlings, which was the race-winning overtake as the reigning champion dropped to third behind Bradley Ray. However, after an incredible campaign, Ryde celebrated the title victory, to retain his number one plate.

  • Race 3

Vickers mastered the tricky wet conditions in the final ZYN British Superbike Championship race of the season to take the victory for Honda Racing UK at Brands Hatch, ahead of the triple champion Ryde.

At the start of the race, Vickers launched into the lead with one of his lightning starts to head the pack from Ryde, Redding and Leon Haslam, who moved ahead of Joe Talbot on the opening lap.

Vickers continued to maintain his edge over Ryde and Redding with Talbot just adrift of the leading trio, but the AJN Steelstock bimota rider was soon closing and by lap 11, he made a move on Redding to move third at Druids.

Talbot was pushing for his debut BSB podium in his rookie season and he delivered as he held an edge over Redding at the chequered flag ahead of Max Cook and Leon Haslam, who completed the top six.

"Obviously the odds were in my favour coming into the weekend, but you never know what can happen at the final round, you saw what happened at Donington Park!

"We've done a good job all year and then there's doubts in your mind that it could really mean nothing if something went wrong, so there was a lot of pressure, not just on me but also the team to get the bike over the line. Every race I have finished has been in the top four and it has been an amazing season.

"This is the best title by miles. I say that because of the way I reacted going over the line, screamed for a good 15 seconds, it was quite embarrassing actually! It felt so good; I have grown up watching Scott on TV and I know what a good rider he is, so to beat him on the exact same machinery chalks off something in my head.

"Now it comes down to stats and trying to add to those. I really enjoy my racing, my goal was always to be BSB champion, and now I have done it three times. These are moments you remember your whole life, it doesn't last forever, so we need to cherish times like these when they come your way. I rode my heart out this season and now we can celebrate and start thinking about 2027!"

Game on: Relentless Redding attacks to win race one after fighting through from eleventh.

Scott Redding delivered an incredible victory in the opening British Superbike Championship race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, keeping the title fight alive ahead of tomorrow's season finale.

The Hager PBM Racing Team rider was bullish as he battled from eleventh on the opening lap to win the race to keep his title hopes alive, reducing the gap to 48 points ahead of tomorrow's two races with 70 points still available.

At the start of the race, Ryde hit the front of the pack from Ryan Vickers and Max Cook and the three were leading the podium fight, whilst Redding was languishing down the order in eleventh place on the opening laps.

However, the 'Comeback Kid', delivered just that and after holding a position in the top eight until the seventh lap, he soon began carving through the order in bullish style as the rain flags were displayed and withdrawn throughout the race.

Redding was relentless in his attack and he claimed sixth place from Bradley Ray as his rivals played it cautious because of the changing conditions, the 2019 champion was hunting and was up to fourth by lap ten.

At the front, Cook also saw his opportunity and he grabbed the lead at Surtees on lap 10, passing Ryan Vickers at Graham Hill Bend and then making his move on Ryde to hit the front of the pack.

A lap later and Ryde was having to hold off Redding, but the Hager PBM Racing Team dived down the inside at Paddock Hill Bend to move ahead and he then had Vickers to contend with for the next position. The Honda Racing UK rider traded places with Redding, before he was able to hold the edge, but Ryde wasn't settling for less than a podium and was into third as Cook dropped to fourth.

Redding held the lead before the race was red flagged for rain on lap 15 with Redding claiming the important victory ahead of Ryde, who had forced his way ahead of Vickers at Hawthorns two laps earlier.

It means that the title fight goes down to the final day of the season at Brands Hatch tomorrow, with Ryde aiming for the threepeat as Redding aims to make the most sensational BSB title fight comeback in history.

"I've got to stop doing this, I'm going to give myself a heart attack! After qualifying I knew I had my work cut out and I thought I was going to be third or fourth, but the others must've done a quick last lap on the last as I was seventh. Kyle was on pole and that wasn't what I needed.

"I got an average start and then just got absolutely abused into the first corner and that happened for like two or three laps, where I was just getting beaten up a little bit and I was just not getting the rhythm and I was being a little bit too careful.

"I thought just don't panic. Kyle was leading and I just thought get your head down, get through and I suddenly thought, I could get there, I could do the superman moves, so just keep going.

"I was banging laps after laps, not looking at anything apart from that group in front, the rain was coming and I just thought, keep going right now. I have got nothing really to lose, and I got through and had a battle at the front but the rain was changing on the track. I just gambled the cards; I think race direction played it at the right time. I lost the rear going into Hawthorns and I thought I've got to finish this lap.

"I just did that out of a little bit of desperation as when you don't have a choice you can do miracles sometimes. Yes, the weather played a part but the changes that we made on the bike helped me when I got my rhythm and so hopefully tomorrow we've got something that we can take to the battle.

"I'm looking forward to it. I'm ready to go to war. It's all we can do. I think Kyle is going to protect some points, but anything can happen, so we'll do what we can do."

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

THE PERFECT FAREWELL: Bulega rounds out WorldSBK career with victory, Sam Lowes denies Bautista podium. Rain fell in the final five laps of the race to add to the challenge, with Bulega beating Lecuona while Bautista fell agonisingly short of the rostrum.

Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) ended his time in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship career with his 52nd victory in the class, tying Troy Bayliss. He was ahead of teammate Iker Lecuona at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Andalucia in a race impacted by late rain. In the battle for third, Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) beat Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) on the final lap, denying the #19 a sensational podium in what could be his final race.

BULEGA SAYS GOODBYE WITH A WIN, BAUTISTA DENIED

Lecuona grabbed the holeshot into Turn 1 to lead the race, although Bulega responded at Turn 6 on the opening lap to re-take P1, although the big mover was Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team): he jumped up from sixth on the grid to immediately slot into a provisional podium spot. Bulega started eking out a gap over Lecuona while Bautista had to defend from Sam Lowes in the early stages of the 20-lap race. As the race approached the halfway mark, two-time WorldSBK Champion started building up a gap over the chasing Sam Lowes. With rain starting to fall in the final quarter of the race, the #14 closed the gap to Bautista but the fight went down to the final lap. The #14 made his move at Turn 5 to move into third and, after Bautista tried to run wide at Turn 6, the Brit held on to take the final place on the podium. Bulega went on to take his 52nd win in WorldSBK, putting him level with Troy Bayliss in fifth in the all-time list, while he'll go down in folklore as the last Pirelli race winner as they leave the Championship after this race. For Lecuona, it was his 34th WorldSBK rostrum while Sam Lowes took his 17th podium.

Jeremy Alcoba won the FIM Supersport World Championship Race Two Sunday at Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, in Spain. Riding his Kawasaki WorldSSP Team ZX-6R 636, the Spaniard won the 12-lap race by just 0.482 second.

His teammate, Dominique Aegerter was second, and Matteo Ferrari got third on his WRP Racing Ducati Panigale V2.

Can Oncu finished fourth on his Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing YZF-R9.

Former MotoAmerica regular Valentin Debise finished fifth, just 1.987 seconds behind the winner, on his Eastroc Evan Bros ZXMOTO 820RR.

Albert Arenas leads the championship with 389 points, 81 ahead of Valentin Debise who has 308 points. Jeremy Alcoba is third with 274 points.

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

GREEN CELEBRATIONS: Alcoba leads Aegerter in first Kawasaki 1-2 since 2016 as Ferrari takes bronze in red-flagged thriller. WorldSSP finished the 2026 season with a bang as, behind the podium celebration chaos, Perolari locked down the WorldSSP Challenge award.

Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) led the FIM Supersport World Championship field when the red flag was waved, ending the season's final Race 2 prematurely. Alcoba closes 2026 with an insane run of form, landing his fourth win in six races. Dominique Aegerter (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) showed tremendous speed, following his teammate into Parc Ferme for the silver medal. Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) finished the season with his third podium of the campaign. With that, WorldSSP closes the book on a sensational 2026 season which has featured 15 riders on the podium, a record in the class.

ARENAS TO THE MEDICAL CENTRE

Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) shot off the line from P3 to take the holeshot into Turn 1, and later Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) got up into the top three places at Turn 6 of the opening lap. He then tried a similar move on Arenas and Oncu on Lap 2, but he got twisted up on the brakes, and collided with the #75, sending both bikes tumbling. Arenas was taken to the medical centre where he was later diagnosed with multiple contusions.

A MAD DASH TO THE FINISH IN 2026

Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing), Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing), Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing), and Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) snatched up the newly vacated positions at the front, as they all saw themselves on the top step of the podium in the final race of the year. Both Kawasaki bikes charged up the grid from a P5 start for #52 and a P7 start for #77, with both riders into the top four by Lap 7. When Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) crashed out at Turn 8, of Lap 12, a red flag was waved for track conditions. With the race past the 2/3rd point, it was brought to a close early. Alcoba ended the season with a fourth win of the campaign, clinching third in the Riders' Championship away from the #61. The #77 finished P2 when the race was brought to an end, earning his first podium since Phillip Island 2022. Closing the season with a P3 result, Ferrari found the bottom step of the podium for the third time in his sophomore campaign in the class.

ONCU CLOSES 2026 IN P4

The Turkish rider had a tough break when the red flag was waved, as he was just two tenths behind Ferrari and was loading up for a fight in the last laps. He finished in P4, losing third in the Championship standings to Alcoba on the final day. Debise started from the back in P8 but led the race with ten laps to go. He fell behind the podium fight by Lap 12, and after a pass with contact, he had to give P7 back to Navarro after the FIM WorldSBK Stewards handed him an Irresponsible Riding penalty. He finished P5 when the race ended, an improvement from P10 in Race 1. Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) battled the Frenchman ahead of him throughout the race and will see his season end with a P6 finish at Jerez.

MAHIAS TAKES P7 FROM RACE 2

French veteran rider Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) improved his P11 grid start to P7, beating Spanish teammate Roberto Garcia by a quarter of a second after the #37 climbed up from P16. Rounding off the final top ten of the season,  Mattia Casadei (D34G WorldSSP Racing Team) finished in his grid start position of P9, and fellow Italian Filippo Farioli (VFT Racing Yamaha) took P10 from the final WorldSSP race of 2026.

NAVARRO DIAGNOSED WITH MILD CONCUSSION

Eric Fernandez (Cerba Yamaha Racing Team) crashed at Turn 6 of Lap 8 for his third crash in three races. Prior to his red-flag-inducing crash, Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) dropped down from starting on pole to sit P5 at the outset of Lap 2, and while he attempted a Turn 6 move on Lap 4, he punted Farioli wide and was obligated by FIM WorldSBK Stewards to drop a position to P7. The #9 crashed at Turn 8 and was later diagnosed with a mild concussion by the medical centre.

More, from a press release issued by WSBK:

Ramos sends WorldWCR in2026 out with a bang, completing her maiden double ahead of Neila and Jones. The #15 took P3 with a breathtaking final corner move on the defending Champion as Ramos won Yamaha's final race in WorldWCR.

With the Women's Circuit Racing World Championship having been wrapped up by Maria Herrera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR) in Race 1 as she was crowned Champion in the class for the second time, Paola Ramos closed WorldWCR's third season in the Pirelli Spanish Round with a second win, capping off a triple crown of pole position and two wins at her home Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Andalucia. Behind her, Neila continued her podium streak, closing 2026 having taken silverware from every race. Chloe Jones took her second podium of the season, closing what has been a difficult 2026 season on a high note.

RAMOS AND NEILA SLUG IT OUT FOR THE TOP STEP

Ramos snagged the holeshot ahead of a soaring Yvonne Cerpa (MotosCerpa-Gradara Corse), who jumped up from P3 on the grid while Herrera and Neila lurked behind in P3 and P4. Herrera was back at the helm by Turn 2 of Lap 2 with no shortage of hunger for the top step after her 2026 coronation after Saturday's Race 1. Ramos wasn't going to stand by and allow the #6 her double, as she took back the lead on Turn 13 of the second lap. Ramos and Neila pulled away from the pack for most of the race. With three laps remaining, Ramos led Neila by just a quarter of a second. On the final lap, Neila had closed in and looked up the inside several times on the rookie, but she couldn't make a move stick and finished Race 2 in P2 for her 27th consecutive podium. Her tally stands just two shy of Herrera's all-time consecutive podium record. Ahead of her in P1, Ramos took her fifth WorldWCR win, buttoning up a perfect home round after taking pole on Friday and completing her first career WorldWCR double.

JONES AROUND THE OUTSIDE AT THE FINAL CORNER FOR P3

After falling backwards early, Chloe Jones (Monster Energy Crescent Yamaha) was back into her grid start position of P4 by Lap 5. She tailed the #6 by just two tenths on the final lap and pulled off a tremendous final corner move at Turn 13, going around the outside of the 2026 Champion to return to the podium for the first time since Misano. Herrera took P4 to close the season, and while it was her first time off the podium since Race 2 in 2025, she won't be too sore as she leaves Jerez with a Championship trophy for the second time in two seasons.

PONZIANI CLOSES THE SEASON FROM P5

Muklada Sarapuech (Yamaha AD78 FIMLA by EEST NJT Racing) led the second group in P6 early on as she sparred with Roberta Ponziani (Klint Racing Team) and Jones, but the #96 emerged at the top of that group at the chequered flag. Cerpa pulled no punches on the #6 as the pair traded tight moves for P3 from Laps 3-5, but she fell further down to a P6 finish, three tenths behind the Italian. Sarapuech was unlucky: while it looked like she might stage a comeback as she and Jones charged towards the front group at the head of the second group before her pace diminished in the final laps, sealing Race 2 in P7.

RELPH IMPROVES TO P8

The Australian rider Tayla Relph (Full Throttle Racing) finished Race 2 in P8, her best result since Round 2 of the season at Assen. Natalia Rivera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team) and Astrid Madrigal (Pons Italika Racing FIMLA) rounded out the top ten in Race 2, with the Spanish rider crossing the line  in P9 three seconds quicker than the #83 who took P10.

RUIZ RULED UNFIT AFTER TURN 1 CRASH

Pakita Ruiz (PR46+1 Racing Team) and Sara Sanchez (Hadden Racing Team) made contact and crashed out of the season's final race in the contest's opening corner. The #46 was later diagnosed with a broken big toe on her right foot, as well as an abrasion and contusion on her left hand.

The Barber Vintage Festival is a juggernaut on the motorcycle calendar. Drawing...
18-Oct-26
electricmotorcycles.news [ 18-Oct-26 12:15pm ]

Source: SteckerBiker / THE PACK News | 10.5 kW of power, a top speed of 114 km/h and up to 260 kilometres of range, for the equivalent of around US$1,800. With the new EX2S, Indian startup Avore presents an electric motorcycle whose price makes European riders look twice. The real question is a different one: why are more and more interesting electric two-wheelers coming out of India?

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News Who is behind Avore?

Avore was founded in 2023 in the Indian state of Gujarat by Priyank Rakholiya, Mayank Rakholiya and Mihir Tagadiya. According to the company, development took around three years and involved more than 100 engineers, and nine systems were developed entirely in-house.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

The goal was not simply to electrify an existing combustion motorcycle. Avore wanted to build a motorcycle where electronics and software are part of the platform from the start. The new EX series is the brand's debut, and it launches with three models at once.

Why India?

A look at the Indian market explains part of it. Motorcycles and scooters are not a niche there. In the 2025/26 financial year, India sold more than 21.7 million two-wheelers. In the same period, passenger car sales came to around 4.6 million.

The two-wheeler also plays a different role in India than in Europe. In Europe, riding a motorcycle often means leisure, weekend rides or touring. In India, the two-wheeler is above all affordable everyday mobility for millions of people: for commuting, shopping and getting around every day.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

The apparently low price of US$1,800 also needs context. An employed worker in Indian manufacturing earns an average of around 18,700 rupees a month. The EX2S price of about 170,000 rupees therefore equals roughly nine months' wages. For comparison, nine months of the German median wage would come to almost €38,000. This is not a direct purchasing power comparison, but it shows clearly what an US$1,800 motorcycle is actually worth in India.

Air pollution in the big cities adds to the picture. The Indian government explicitly cites rising pollution levels as one reason to push electric mobility.

And the state is giving that push real weight. The PM E-DRIVE subsidy programme has a total budget of almost €1 billion, of which around €160 million is set aside for electric two-wheelers alone. By 22 July 2026, the programme had already supported more than 2.05 million electric two-wheelers.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

It is not only about purchase incentives. Through the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme, India also supports manufacturers of advanced vehicle technology, while strengthening local component production. India is not just stimulating sales; it is trying to build its own electric vehicle industry at the same time.

A huge two-wheeler market, a need for affordable everyday mobility, air pollution, government support and domestic production: the conditions for new electric motorcycles could hardly be better.

Three models, with the EX2S on top

Avore does not start with a single motorcycle, but with the EX1, EX2 and EX2S. Visually, all three share the same basic concept. Technically, they differ mainly in battery, performance and equipment.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

The entry-level EX1 has a 3.24 kWh battery, a top speed of 100 km/h and a claimed IDC range of 160 kilometres. The EX2 gets the larger 5 kWh battery and a claimed 255 kilometres, but also stays at 100 km/h.

The top-of-the-range EX2S combines the 5 kWh battery with a 10.5 kW (14 hp) PMSM electric motor. Top speed rises to 114 km/h, and 0 to 40 km/h is claimed to take 2.8 seconds.

Equipment includes several riding and power modes and a 7-inch display with navigation and connectivity. Tyre pressure monitoring, vehicle diagnostics, live tracking and theft alerts are also part of the package. Seat height is 790 mm and ground clearance is 180 mm. Avore also quotes 250 Nm of torque at the rear wheel.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

The charger is built into the motorcycle, so a standard household socket is all you need. Charging from 20 to 80 percent takes around two hours.

A European version of the EX2S has not been announced. A direct comparison with European prices would not be fair anyway: homologation, transport, taxes, distribution, warranty and a service network would all add to the cost of any export model. With more than 20 million two-wheelers sold in India every year, Avore will likely have its hands full at home for now.

260 kilometres: realistic?

The range figure deserves a closer look. Avore promises up to 260 kilometres for the EX2S under the Indian IDC cycle. On paper, that works out to a consumption of only around 19 Wh/km. For comparison, an efficient 45 km/h electric scooter typically uses around 40 Wh/km in real-world riding, and faster electric motorcycles commonly use 50 to 70 Wh/km in mixed use. The 19 Wh/km figure therefore looks very ambitious.

Avore Electric - India - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News

It should certainly not be confused with 260 kilometres of realistic range on country roads or motorways. Avore itself describes the 260 kilometres as a range under ideal conditions and points out that riding mode, speed, rider weight, terrain, weather and traffic all affect real range. How far the EX2S actually goes in daily use will only become clear in an independent test.

The SteckerBiker view

We still see the claim of 260 kilometres from just 5 kWh with a question mark. At the same time, it would be unfair to judge the EX2S only by German standards. Indian roads, average speeds and riding conditions are very different from ours. Anyone who uses a motorcycle mainly as daily transport, and not for touring at motorway speeds, can be well served by a 5 kWh battery.

That may be one of the EX2S's strengths. Avore is not trying to build a cheap copy of a European electric motorcycle. It is developing for a huge domestic two-wheeler market with different needs. On top of that comes a top speed of over 100 km/h and a connected 7-inch display, at a price that seems unbelievably low from a European point of view, but that still represents a major investment for many people in India.

The environment in which these motorcycles are created is even more interesting. A gigantic two-wheeler market meets government support, local development and a political goal of cleaner mobility. That makes Avore more than just another new brand. It is an example of a development that Europe should keep an eye on.

When it comes to new electric motorcycles, we no longer need to look only at China. India has a firm grip on the throttle, and it is going flat out.
