Inevitably. Terrorist or NOT?

the road less travelled : It's the world's first grass-roots, curiosity driven weblog.

The Times : Bin Laden is linked to US puppet regime You couldn't read about it. This one will run and run. Sesame Workshop are appalled. "We are exploring all legal options to stop this abuse and any similar abuses in the future.” That's it. Sue the producers of the posters for copyright abuse!

"OSAMAGATE" Iran-Contra all over again? Surely not.

Wonderbum. Is it a new song by Oasis? Is it just a gratuitous chance to say "Bum" in a weblog? Is it a Wonderbra for the bottom half?

No it's support hosiery!

Are they related? There seems to be some confusion as to exactly why Bert from Sesame Street is appearing on bin Laden posters. I think now the awful truth can be told that Bert is in fact one of Osama's 50 brothers.

The family resemblance can be clearly seen in the two photos on the left.

The Hotline World Extra This is quite a site. It's a sort of meta-media aggregating news and views form all the other media.

Addiction is.... Tell me about it.

CCTV in the UK and USA [thanks bOing bOing] Well argued analysis of panopticon technologies. Except that the USA already has a lot of CCTV, just not quite the density of the UK. My reaction to this is to push for widespread access. The bit that bothers me is the asymettry of the information. Let's make every CCTV camera a publically accessible webcam.

There's an urban myth running round the UK. It goes something like this:-

"A friend of my mother's was in a shop and an arab looking guy left his wallet behind. The friend picked it up and ran after him. He thanked her profusely and then whispered, "Don't take the train to London on Tuesday, it's going to be attacked" before disappearing into the crowd. The friend reports the conversation to the police and picks out the face from photos they show her. It's the face of a known terrorist thought to be in the UK.".

Amazing. The urban myth is spreading so fast that the Police have issued a press statement about it.

The Syndic8.com project is really taking off. We're in "Review" mode now as we all check feeds and try and get the broken ones fixed. Take a look and join in.

The best answer yet to the question; "What should they build in place of the WTC?"

I've just read that the food bombs on Afghanistan contained radios. So two questions.
  • Did they ship Duracell or Ever-Ready? Or were they wind up radios?
  • Is the BBC world service increasing it's coverage of all three Afghani languages, or will the Afghanis be stuck with Voice of America in US English?

  • Music biz wants tougher DMCA, CPRM 2 to protect copyright - Exclusive Scary strategies revealed at secret Washington meeting Damn! Why don't these people just Back Off? I've worked myself and I've got friends who work in the record business. The big labels are now nothing more than a group of anti-competitve cartel with a monopoly on distribution and marketing. They add no value. They're fighting for survival, but we can't allow them to control what PC, OS, software we use.

Gbloogle Search --- Plumbing the Depths Most excellent full text search of UK weblogs that belong to GBLog. Updated twice a day.

Today's CD - Michael Franti & Spearhead - Stay Human The Gil Scott Heron of the late 90s and early noughties. I really like all his stuff from The Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy through the William Burroughs collaboration and Chocolate Supahighway.

    SlugBot: Enemy of Slugs -
The world's first fully autonomous robot is being developed by a team of British scientists. The SlugBot eats slugs and uses their decomposing bodies to generate electricity. I want one of these! We have a big slug and snail problem in our garden. I also find these sorts of mini robots impossibly cool.
