Friday Night Cocktail - Tuxedo #2

From the Savoy book, via Everleigh.

- 60ml Gin (Beefeater)
- 22ml Dry Vermouth (Noilly)
- 7ml Maraschino
- barspoon (2 dashes) absinthe or pastis (Bourdin)
- 2 dashes orange bitters (12 drops Regan's)
Stirred, Martini Glass, Lemon twist and cherry

The original Savoy recipe is too wet for modern tastes - equal quantities gin and vermouth. Everleigh like their Martinis quite wet 3:1 or even 2:1. The quantities here work well given all the other stuff going on. There's a lot of different flavours in there, but it hits the spot.

It's been a while, as I've been away from the drinks collection at weekends. I've been reduced to Gordons and Schweppes G&T I found in the parent's cupboards. Very 70s.
