The Waldorf

Getting a bit bored with The Manhattan? Use Bourbon instead of Rye and add a splash of absinthe/pastis for your Friday night aperitif.

50ml Wild Turkey
25ml Carpano
1 dash Angostura
Splash Henri Bourdin pastis

Freeze a rocks glass. Stir the main ingredients with ice for 40s or so. Rinse the rocks glass with a splash of the pastis. Add one large ice cube and strain the main drink into it. Garnish with a cherry, lemon or orange peel as takes your fancy.

The pastis/absinthe adds to the smell more than to the taste.
