Yeah, and there goes events and hangouts integration. The hangouts API was neutered a few weeks ago and goes away entirely in April, so there goes all of the things that make hangouts so great.
It really looks like Google+ is slowly being dismantled. Man, I don't want to be forced back on to facebook.
+Mark Stronge Just read that a bit ago. That's good news.
I'm aware that hangouts is still around, I use it all the time. What bothers me is that they're removing the features that really set it apart from other, similar apps. It beat the pants off of facebook messenger but pretty soon, it'll be no different.
+Allen Seelye hangouts led the way to what is now the global phenomenon that is Snapchat. Just think of that for a minute. Live video with goofy overlays, and all the cool stuff, I've never used Snapchat but I might start as hangouts and Duo certainly aren't going to add these types of things. They are what they are and it seems stagnating is worse than death.
+Mark Stronge Yeah, Allo and Duo are the next big thing for Google I guess, except that they are mobile only apps. I use the heck out of the web based Hangouts on the PC. Maybe they'll bring a web based UI to Allo and Duo in the future. I read somewhere that Hangouts might be moving to Enterprise only, so this would make sense.

Events are coming to the new Google+ for web.
