Paul Mason (51) writes about the role of youth unemployment (among other things) in the current global unrest.

There's a deep need to try and explain all this by comparing it with 1848, 1905, 1914, 1968, 1989 and so on, but of course it's only really like 2012. Each loop round the spiral is unique even though there is some self similarity with previous loops round. There's only limited amounts of help provided by the comparisons but it's an easy hook for an ageing hack to build an article around.

I'm mildly amused by the following:- - A protester describing themselves as "Situationist Taliban". Oh yes, Guerilla-Ontologists-'R'-Us
- A 51 year old member of the BBC/Grauniad establishment writing a book about 2011 revolutions and going on the lecture circuit while talking about "graduate youth unemployment"
- the Grauniad publishing a pic of somebody wearing a V mask and describing them as a member of 'Anonymous'. How did they know? Well he's holding an iPhone and wearing the mask of course!20 Musley Ln, Ware
