Just got a note from Amazon that my copy of Neal Stephenson's Reamde has shipped and will be here tomorrow. Which is clever because it's not supposed to be released till 20-sept.46 Trinity Rd, Ware, Hertfordshire SG12 7
Now I'm torn. Amazon will deliver the hardback, but the Kindle edition won't ship until the 20th. A 900 page hardback is a hefty thing to carry on my commute, but the alternative is waiting nearly three weeks...
The hardback will be yours forever, to pass around to family and friends. A Kindle edition is only for you to read and the publisher goes to great lengths to stop you copying it. It's a racket.
