Though I don't think I can go that far (I need my UK sc-fi), I must confess that the incessant pandering to the US audience is too much. I can imagine the Starz execs sitting around the table, "Let's have Eve explain the difference between a chip and a crisp and maybe have a 'your driving on the wrong side of the road' moment".
True, but anything is better than the last 6 episodes of Dr Who! At least Russell T Davies can write a story and an episode with a beginning, a middle and an end. Stephen Moffat seems only to order everything with a side order of Sci-Fi-itus and a bunch of special effects
In other words, I should just skip it? I haven't started, because I wanted to wait for opinions on how Americanised they made it. US doing UK shows is almost always a bad thing.
+Holly Letourneau "US doing UK shows is almost always a bad thing." Ain't that the truth. What's worse is when they come back to haunt us on our own TV.
Well done on making it through a lot of Torchwood episodes before coming to that decision.
I lasted almost halfway through that episode of Dr. Who... You know the one where Rose met Captain Jack during WWII, and then Jack tried to seduce the Dr, and, um, the acting was really overdone?
My distaste must come from having lived in the US for so long--I can't listen to John Barrowman's pseudo-American accent, which I'm sure most Americans will be offended by... almost as much as I am when the Americans try to immitate my mid-atlantic... ever seen a train crash? Nobody likes it... except for the explosions.
