https://convore.com/ Yet another attempt to recreate IRC with ridiculously easy group forming around $NicheTopic. All the usual suspects have already joined. There's a real need for a platform for Few-To-Few conversations in quasi-real time around $NicheTopic. People keep trying to bend Twitter and other general purpose systems to do this. Facebook et al, are terrible at this. And things like phpBB, vBulletin and other forum software won't go away but are stuck in the past and have real limitations. I wish Skype Group-Chats were better because they're still the best alternative to IRC I've seen but they're off to the side of the main Skype business. Buzz has some benefits but like Twitter it doesn't naturally lend itself to organisation around niche topics. Maybe the problem is too hard. The need won't go away though.
