This year I shall mostly be trying to avoid paying VAT by buying stuff direct from overseas, on eBay or paying cash. And I'll be using my bicycle more to avoid paying £1.30 per litre for petrol. Oh, George, what have you done?

I also need to avoid public transport but I was doing that anyway. Perhaps this year's project should be a Honda C90 cargo bike. 150mpg, 50mph, semi-enclosed to keep the weather off and enough storage for a full stack of grocery shopping. The Burgman 400 is close but even that uses too much petrol.
