It doesn't matter how it started and I'm not going to post a link. You can search and find if you want to. What's interesting is what happens afterwards.
- There's no indication on their profile that they've blocked you.
- You can carry on following them.
- Comments from them on your Buzz entries seem to disappear.
- There's no way to direct message them to try and clear up the misunderstanding
- Emails to their gmail.com address may or may not get through.
