Spent Sunday morning at Rye House Speedway watching and talking to some Flat Track people having a practice day. It turns out the guy organising it used to work with me and offered me a ride at some later date. What could possibly go wrong![1] So now I have 2 more things to do this year. Go to a Speedway meeting and go to the Harlow greyhound track for a night at the dogs. [1]We've hatched a plan though that probably won't happen. Take an old CG125 that's languishing in a friend's garage and turn it into a dirt cheap flat tracker. Enough to find out how much fun it is before getting a bit more serious. As far as I can tell, the only safety measure is a lanyard kill switch and the participants are a hilarious mix of old men behaving badly and young kids ripping it up with only 4 or 5 of the 40 people there actually taking it seriously. We should fit right in.
