How do you describe the music you're listening to when nobody's given it a genre name yet?

I'm thinking of James Blake, Scuba, Sepulcar, Darkstar, Joy Orbison, wagawaga, Ramadanman and the label Hot Flush. And people like Damu the fudgemunk, Fat Jon. It's clearly got roots in dubstep, Ninja Tunes, acid-jazz-hip-hop and even RnB. But it's not dubstep[1] as it''s known in the mainstream which is more like a dirty two step version of drum and bass. And it's not acid-jazz. Neither is it rap or hip hop.

Maybe it's "the soundtrack to grainy monochrome slo-mo skateboard-BMX videos on the late night Extreme Sports channel"[2]. Maybe it's the "Sound of 2011".

[1]It's way past time people started putting the Dub back into DubStep.
[2]Give it 5 years and it'll be the sound track to BBC2 nature and gardening programs

I don't suppose you fancy whipping up a Spotify playlist to show us what this new genre sounds like? 29 Jan 2011 29 Jan 2011

Just discovered "Eskmo" similar style to James Blake et al. recommended. Especially the collaboration with Amon Tobin, "Eskamon".
