Hmmm. Supposed to be flying to Stansted-Santander tonight. But some UK flights are being cancelled due to the Iceland volcano. Will we make it? Will we make it back?

Apparently the last time this volcano erupted, it lasted two years..............

The weather's in a static pattern with high altitude winds blowing from Iceland over the UK. I can't see that this is going to change in 24 hours. So we've cancelled everything. So, where to go at short notice? Cornwall, Eurostar to Paris, or car to N France?

Eurostar seems a safe bet.

Well there's no snow on the ground and no fires in the tunnel today, so Eurostar should be running.

Had a great time doing a big circle. Hertford, Andover, Nailsworth-Stroud, Monmouth, Hay-On-Wye, Newtown, Buxton, Lincoln, Stamford, Hertford. And perfect weather for most of the trip. Hardly ever go to Wales and it turned out to be charming and picturesque. Managed to find some very pleasant hotels and good food. The hot tip is to go to the Tourist Information in each town around 4-5pm and get them to find and book a room for you.
