Facebook Places (now live in the UK). No web UI to check in (laptops are portable too!). Presumably there's an API for checking in but none of the multi-checkin apps support it yet AFAIK. No obvious history and no RSS/Atom of that history that I can see.

You've got a thing about checking in with laptops. Don't think I haven't noticed. 17 Sep 2010 17 Sep 2010

Heh. I've got a thing about "mobile-only" function. html5 has geolocation for a reason. I shouldn't get angry but the general state of location stuff just winds me up. It's all so half baked. And the endless USA-iness of it all bleeds into my general low level anger about all things American.

I'm on a Skype chat with an ex-pat Canadian who spends a lot of time in Japan. Right now he's back in Canada and doesn't have Facebook places even though we do now in the UK and they do in Japan. Jeez. Canada!
