As I work my way slowly through Dale De-Groff's cocktails book; tonight's was a Gimlet. Not convinced. Undiluted Rose's Lime juice is a little bitter. It was improved with a dash of gomme. Wikipedia says "One theory is that the drink was named after British Royal Navy Surgeon General Sir Thomas D. Gimlette, KCB (served 1879 to 1913), who allegedly introduced this drink as a means of inducing his messmates to take lime juice as an anti-scurvy medication." So, yes, I think it's a little medicinal. Or in the immortal words of Doc Gonzo, "One for the patient, and one for the doctor".
