Some of the reasons for this are just weird. For a long time Statins were prescribed less for women, because "they don't work so well on women", because the research studies about them were mostly with men and didn't include many women, because everyone knows that women have more healthy diets and eat less "Full English Breakfasts" and burgers.

String of articles about women not receiving healthcare that's common for men. Or for "Sickfluencing". Or for over-self-diagnosis of disability. This is 19th century behaviour about gender. We're back to blaming hysterical young (and older) women for complaining about something that's "all in their heads". Before you know it, we'll be back to 50s and 60s "mother's little helper". Sedatives to make the women just go away because they're being difficult.

I can assign the power button to decline or hangup, but not to answer the call. And even in accessibility there' no option to create any other button, key or icon to answer the call. Motoanswer still works fine to auto-answer the call when certain Bluetooth devices are connected. Gah! Phones you can't answer. This modern world, eh?

Old enough to remember when phones were designed primarily for phone calls. And it was easy to press a button to answer the call. Latest Google Phone app for android doesn't display the "Answer/Decline" widget for between 3 and 7 rings if the phone is unlocked. But more or less instantly if the phone is locked. Near the top of the reviews since the last update on 10-Sept is someone with the same problem. So it's not just me.

von der Leyen is suggesting a new EU idea of "Associate Membership" with Canada as the first country. And yet CETA is still not fully ratified even though it is helping EU-Canada trade. Does it help the EU to have a standardised "Associate", not-quite-members, membership option? Could this be used for the varied requirements of the almost European UK, Ukraine, Turkey, Morocco, Norway, Switzerland and so on. How about the rest of the world. An EU equivalent to BRICS?

And yet. The JCVI and UKHSA recommend a vax only, vax and relax covid policy with no vax. And with an inflated private cost of £95 instead of £25 wholesale or £15 retail for flu. Streeting (Health) and Phillipson (Education) spoke up about this in opposition. But when Labour won and they were in government they did nothing and just continued to allow the organisations created by Johnson to do their thing. Now it's Yvette Cooper and Lucy Powell's turn to do nothing.

And yet. We know this isn't true for Flu. We know flu is debilitating, can kill you and can have long term damage. We know it constantly mutates so you can catch it repeatedly. Which is why we run yearly flu campaigns and subsidised cheap shots for people not eligible for free ones. With Covid, it can kill you, the science seems to show that the danger of long term effects increases with each infection, it constantly mutates and you can catch it repeatedly.

So what do we mean by "Hybrid Immunity"? The JCVI and UKHSA were setup to follow the science, advise government and (some say) to run interference for the NHS and Gov that didn't want to spend money. They came up with this. The vax you haven't had, or if you did have it but it wasn't immunising, and the repeated past infections, would protect you from the next infection, so you don't need another vax.

Now let's talk about UKHSA and these numbers. The gov is usually pretty good at retaining old documents. But these numbers are sadly, very hard to find now. And the UKHSA dashboard is now years out of date on Covid vax take-up numbers (Jan-25) and genome lineage (Apr-24) https://ukhsa-dashboard.data.gov.uk/respiratory-viruses/covid-19
